I still fail to see how comparing a right forward with natural wingers is anything close to an objective analysis, but anyways

btw am i the only one not the least bit excited about the potential Leandro signing? He seems like a poacher type striker that doesn't really get himself involved in general play.

I find this funny(nothing against you) but you have one half of posters on here who are basically all about the wiki, the more you've got, the better u are. Then you have the other half who claim how important Ade is to our all round game and isn't just about the numbers, personally I'm in the latter category. Maybe Damiao would out score Ade, but he won't do half as much outside of the 18 yard box.

Ade and Damiao and I would be happy!

But, do you think we could sell Modders, for say £34m, and just buy Damiao and Ade and maybe not get a replacement for Modric? I mean would you guys be happy with that?

Well Damiao would be £15m, Adebayor £10m, which leaves about £10m plus whatever money we have from the start of the window to get a Modric replacement, we have enough.

hope so. I do think we need to replace Modric. But I reckon Damiao would be nearer £20m. so would only leave about £5m after Ade. Would need to spend a bit more then for Moutinho, so £20m net spend?

You say it leaves £5m but what about money we should get for the transfer window? I mean we havn't even spent any of that yet, we've spent with money we got from players sold

Not forgetting the fact that both buying and selling players costs the club money on agents and sign on fees/loyalty bonuses. We also need the wages to fit within our budget.

AVB must have been given a transfer kitty and seeing as most of the money spent on Vert and Sig was (i assume) from the money made from the sale's of Corluka and Niko we should still have the summer transfer kitty to pay for Ade and another ST. The Modric money will be used on Moutinho i would imagine with maybe abit left over to go towards LLoris if the rumors are true?

You're assuming that the cash that we get in from selling players is available for AVB to spend. I dont think thats a given at all and, as someone else said, there's all the other costs associated with a transfer which need to be factored in

I agree. IMO as a winger Walcott isnt fit to lace Lennons boots, its not even close. However, as a striker he is a lot better than given credit for.

His pace when breaking through the middle is devestating and he has a very composed finish. I do feel he is a bit Robbie Keane like in that he finishes better on instinct compared to when he has time to consider his options. His movement is good, he is competent in build up and a very decent finisher.

What Im not sure of is how to play him as a striker. He wouldnt work on his own, I dont think he would be worth switching to 442 to accomodate - which is why I wonder Wenger decided to stick him as a wide forward in his 433.

Though that said, playing him as wide as he does still doesnt stack up for me - I would expect him to be "inside" more
