How many times do you need to be unlucky for the reverse to be true? With ENIC it has definitely been a mixed bag, so we can give them credit and corn for all of their many decisions over the years.

It seems to me that Levy has already been opening the purse strings. We’ve spent about £365m on new players in the last three seasons (if you include Romero and Gollini’s fees). I think the accepted wisdom of Levy being inherently stingy is just factually wrong - he was only stingy whilst we were building a £1bn stadium.

(I know you weren’t making that point particularly forcefully Daisuk, so my post was just a general statement rather than response to you!)

Yeah, I don't disagree with that at all. :) What I meant to say was - I do think we've missed out on quite a few players due to Levy being a bit too cheap on more than one occasion though, and I don't think Conte will accept B or C options to his preferred transfer targets.

preferred targets have to be realistic though, if he comes in and demands Mbappe thats not Levy being cheap when it doesn't happen

No, of course not, but he's not stupid. Even if we could afford Mbappe, he wouldn't come to us.
