Rodon or Sanchez can play defence
Doherty can play RWB and sessegnon LWB
he can plus Hojdjerg in midfield if he wants to play defensive, or lo Celso if he wants to play attacking and Tanguy would suit that too IMO
up front he has dele and Gil as well bergwein so we have options and it’s a way Nuno knows

He played CM with Hojdberg in a 2 a bit and against weak opposition looked good there
He has never played a 10 for us or any side

If that's not a #10 role for you, fair enough. But it was three midfielders, two holding, one more advanced, him being the more advanced most of the time. Commonly referred to as a #10 role.

I mean I looked but Tanguy mainly played with Hojdjberg and him alone
We did play with sissoko wide right sometimes when he played
I don’t think he ever played with winks as a pair
We rarely played 4-3-3 though
And he never played as 10 in France

Romero seems to want to play on the right side? Probably better to therefore go with him and Rodon.
Hojbjerg clearly didn't give his all yesterday.... Watch Arsenal's first goal again and tell me with a straight face that he was playing as though he cared there.
Scarlett up front right now would be very detrimental to us and also his own development IMO. He clearly isn't ready and the last thing we need is for the press to start talking about him having made X appearances with zero goals.
Son has always seemed poor from the right hand side. If you want to squeeze both him and Bergwijn (who is injured anyway) into the same team then I think better to put Son through the middle and Bergwijn from the left. Moura can then play on the right side (while not young, at least he seems to always give his all)

I don't know about Argentina but he didn't tend to play as a 10 for Betis. They generally played with a 3-1-4-2 or a 3-4-2-1 formation so didn't really use a number 10. Lo Celso played in all sorts of positions, sometimes being in the 4 of the 3-4-2-1 sometimes one of the central two or even one of the wide positions in the 4 in the 3-1-4-2. While he didn't play as a 10 there, he did score a decent number of goals that 2018/19 season for Betis (9 league goals). I don't think he is anything like and out and out 10 but I think he should be able to do a job as one of Nuno's 3 in midfield as long as the central player in that 3 is positionally sound and screening our two centre backs.

He played in the middle of the attacking group when I saw them play (only about 10 games). He played that Eriksen role linking up midfield and attack
It’s where plays for Argentina (they play 3 in front of him in di Maria, Messi and Martinez
He has 2 Dms behind him

He can’t play wide right
It’s odd to play him there and about as affective as playing him cf
He can play centrally
His best games for us have been there as he can do the ugly stuff too
But we won’t play him there for some reason
We buy him and play right wing

Look at the games in December and January last season.
It was definitely a thing as i remember the conversation being that we needed him deeper as we had no one to help progress the ball in to the final third

Arsenal at home 2 nil. No Tanguy and Lo Celso playing the 10 role
Then palace 1-1. Tanguy played in a 3 with sissoko and Hojdjberg looking at it. He may also have played 10. We got battered for large spells didnt we
Then pool away 2-1 defeat. He didn’t play
Then leiscter at home 2-0 defeat. Apparently he played 10 then and Gio played RW
Wolves away 1-1. He scored and played 10
Leeds at home 3-0. He played 10 that game. Although winks played CM which says how bad Leeds are (winks had a really good game IIRC)
Fulham away 1-1. He played 10
Sheffield United away 3-1. We played 3-4-3 and he played CM and arguably had his best game of the season
Pool at home 3-1 defeat. Tanguy at CM in a 3-4-3
Brighton away 1-0 defeat. Tanguy CM in a weird 3-4-3 formation
So assuming he played 10 vs palace that’s 3 draws vs Wolves, palace and Fulham
Defeats to Leicester with him as 10 (but his fault that game)
And we beat Leeds with him at 10
tje game she played CM in that period we won 1, lost 2

The fact he can pass, and pass much better here than he ever did in France can only help

So we agree, "he has never played there all of his career" was... wrong?
Alli played central midfield in a 4-3-3 in three straight wins at the start of the season, all was apperently fine. 3 weeks later, Alli in that role and the 4-3-3 are both dead ends.

We did, but he also did fine in that role in that system iirc. His only focus on the ball could be turning rather average possession into actual turnovers, make stuff happen.
End product isn't great so it's not his best role long term, but if we're going back to sit back and counter attack it's a role he can play.
I prefer him deeper, but I also prefer our buildup play from the back not being based on Dier thinking he's a quarterback.

Maybe I should have said that he has never played their successfully, regularly over his career. 5 games and maybe a few more over 200 plus isn’t many

This is how Nuno keeps his job. I think Højbjerg needs to sit out a few games, as he's been shocking lately. Could potentially try Lo Celso alongside Skipp, but I feel we need to play it a bit safe, and shore things up. For that reason I've put Dier there, as we really don't have anyone else to play there. I think Romero has also played DM a few times, so could play him there, and any one of Dier, Rodon or Sanchez at CB.
This formation gives us a lot more options going forward, as you can play Gil, Ndombele or Dele behind Kane. Dele and Gil can play wide, and we have Bergwijn coming back soon too. Gets the best out of a lot more players, unlike the 4-3-3 that doesn't suit any of them!
