The Modric sale is iffy.. It really depends how expensive his replacement will be, and the reduction in quality of player.. The Vdv sale makes more sense, if we go for a 4-3-3, his sale could pay the £ for a striker/Right forward.

he has his moments, but I think he's also an accident waiting to happen (as Poland found out). I certainly think he's a player most managers at CL level would look to upgrade on, even though not a priority, Wenger however is not most manager's and will stubbornly stick by him for a few years, which is all good in my book.

I'm not totally convinced on Modric's departure just yet. I'll wait until he opens his gob to the Croatian press again, saying that could AVB keep him at Spurs? I'd say he probably spoke to AVB when Chelsea were courting him last year and was sold on how AVB wanted to use him at Chelsea... could keep him at Spurs if he was that keen.

If we really have £30m net to spend therefore with the cash from NK, VC plus what we migth get for GDS, JJ, DB and Bassong then we'd be looking at having maybe £55m assuming we keep Modric and VdV
Therefore if we keep those two happy and we want them to stay, then thats a fair old cash pile given that we wont be buying someone like Moutinho for £25m.
Spend £9.5m on JV, £8m on Gylfi, 310m on a keeper....that leaves £27m to get 2 CFs in
Agree. I think getting AVB in increases our chances of keeping him, not necessarily because he hated Harry but because AVB is a change, something new and might be able to sell his ideas to Modric

I think what could also happen is we sell Modric and VDV, getting 40/50M for Modric and 10-13M for Rafa, giving us towards £100M, then knock £25M off to pay for Moutinho, and that's £75M to pay for Vertonghen to sort the defence, a keeper, Gylfi to get goals from midfield, and therefore about 40M to get as many players we need to play in the front 3 over the season.

We really should have some cash available and by some i mean A LOT. I cant see otherwise. We sold players in January i.e. Pav, we sold 13m worth of Croatians int he last couple of weeks AND we have saved with regards to wages.
