@Diamond Lights I didn’t really follow the concept. The trailers showed an old style sitcom but without context. The jokes were poor, and the sitcoms are more for the US audience rather than anyone else. I mean, as a global audience, we are aware of these shows but they’re not a staple part of our growing up tv diet. So the whole thing was very flat and strange without due context.

I don't massively disagree with your comments but I found it a really emotional portrayal of a situation that was awful at the time and even worse when looked back on now

Watched episode 1 of Lupin, won't be watching episode 2.

Just watched the first 3 episodes. Quite liked it. Very imaginative story telling and well shot. I speak enough French to get into trouble, not enough to get out, so the sub-titles are essential. But pretty good show and will stick around for the newly-announced season 2.

There’s an English dubbed version. I tried to watch it, as Dad watches it, but really don’t care for it. Maybe it’s better to watch the original version but just saying about the choice.

No, no. Just watch the version with subtitles. Easy to follow and if you think you missed something, just rewind a bit.

It's a really good series - so far - and we'll be in when season 2 drops.

Finished The Night Manager, really good. Hugh Laurie is quality playing the bad guy role, can genuinely imagine there's people like that out there.

I randomly almost ran him over going into a local country park where we live (he lives there) and I parked up. He came over and apologised for his “misdemeanour”!!!

Sounds like season 3 of Discovery is best avoided, so is there anything else on Netflix / Prime which comes close to The Expanse for my next science fiction fix?

It was a bit of a slog and no substitute for The Expanse.

Rewatched the whole of Stargate SG1 and Atlantis last year plus reboot of Galactica, would like to do Babylon 5 as a nostalgia trip at some point but it never seems to be on Prime or Netflix.

It's on prime, via MUBI, if you haven't done it yet there's a free 7 day trial.
I'd recommend it, interesting slant on space life I've not seen before.

He's my No1 choice for new Bond. I don't think it'll happen, but he would offer something different to the role from Daniel Craig i feel, would love to see him get it but don't think he will.
