Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Why is it a guarantee? There wasn’t that clause in Poch’s contract. Levy has had a hard on for Mourinho for years... more likely he got lubed up, bent over and rogered thoroughly with Jose getting a full payoff on exit.

that's a good point

my GHod

Levy isn't always 2 steps ahead

ok, I'm broken, I give up

I don't think we were nowhere, he did a great job, but we'd been knocking on that door for years, and there were some great players in the squad, I always felt it was inevitable.

The point was made above about transfer spend, but when you get players like Kane for free and bargains like Alli and Eriksen for under 10m, you don't need to spend that much.

At some point during Poch's tenure the recruitment/integration process broke, that's for sure.
Yep... it was when the chairman didn’t get him his first choices of Wijnaldum and Mane. And then when he didn’t even get him £20m Grealish.

SO Mourinho costs us £15m pa. to sack. The new guy will only be on half his wages so an immediate saving to offset it

His wages are 15m, he won't cost half that to sack.

Read somewhere Poch cost 12m, despite 3.5 years x 8m contract left

it is, what manager is going to publicly give away their thought process

there is never going to be an honest answer to that question, so why ask it?
We have a £200,000 a week attacking player on the bench, while we are losing and yet barely having a shot in the game. It is fair to ask the manager why he didn’t come on (I wouldn’t have brought him on either and would’ve happily answered the question why had I been the manager).

teams are not picked based on how much each players earns, it makes more sense to me to ask questions about things that did happen, hypotheticals are endless and irrelevant

Yes Poch was fortunate to inherit Kane and Eriksen but they were there from the start of his reign. By 2018 we had started to go stale with the lack of squad refreshment. In football if you standstill you go backwards and we went backwards masked by the Poch's system and the believe he had from the players.

We stagnated and the squad is still suffering from that period now. I keep repeating myself but the squad players are now starters, and not because they rose and took their places but because the previous holders left or broke the backup defence is now THE defence.

We needed to add to the squad in 2017/2018/2019 and not just in 2019nby then it was too late and too much work needed to be done to the squad all at once and the man who needed to make those changes for the sack before he could do so.

Levy set him up to fail. No one likes to hear that, but it's true.

I quite like Dyche actually. Moyes is doing a good job too. Think Megson would be a problem though, he was nicknamed the Ginger Mourinho.

This is why I'm getting rid of them so Levy doesn't make the same mistake

That may be one of the few answers Mourinho may actually be able to blame on someone else, if he didn’t want to sign him.
I don’t see Levy’s patience or trust lasting much longer than a couple more games, if we can’t beat West Brom I can’t see us laying a glove on City it’s difficult to think a run of 9 points from a dozen games and 5 consecutive defeats would be acceptable.
