OMT *** Spurs vs Bin Dippers ***

Nah, i see a deep squad and a good first XI with 2/3 world class talents, wasted playing in a brick system
I don’t anymore
I see some of new players trying to make a mark
Lot of old players that are as bad as they were when Poch got sacked
Some of us said it when Poch got sacked, but that was all on the players. There were things he could have done but the players were better than the results they were getting

I think we should get Hasenhüttl. I mean he’s managed better performances out of a weaker SCBC team than Mourinho has with us. Though, that said, when they lost 9-0 at home to Leicester, I’m sure most of their supporters would have been arguing for his dismissal so maybe that’s a point about giving a manager time.

I defended Poch vs the players so totally understand anyone wanting to take aim at me over it but he didn't have the benefit of Ndombele, GLC, Doherty, Regulion, Rodon, Bergwijn, Vinicius, Bale - a LOT of squad churn since then
But still a lot more churn needed
I use pool as benchmark, they literally have no one left from the team that almost win the league I believe
They have got rid of everyone now
Teams need that churn and we have brought people in but not got rid of the ones that we need too and as such we will lose players like Dele to start the process

Our next manager will be him IMO

Sorry mate but i think you're looking to make excuses for the manager. What players are playing as bad as they were under Poch?

Lloris? No
Aurier? No
Dier? Maybe
Alderweireld? No
Reguilon? Wasn't here
Hojberg? Wasn't here
Sissoko? No
Ndombele? No/Wasn't really here
Kane? No
Son? No
Bergwijn? Wasn't here

That's just not a fair reflection of the state of things

But still a lot more churn needed
I use pool as benchmark, they non-figuratively have no one left from the team that almost win the league I believe
They have got rid of everyone now

You don't get to oversee that sort of churn unless you show progression.

Klopp did.
Mourinho hasn't.

The idea we let him mould this team despite not doing well is fudging ludicrous

The only other thing keeping me from being staunchly Mourinho out is the thought of starting again. It’s fudging traumatic when a manager goes in a way because you know there’s a bedding in period for the new man. We’ve been in some sort of transition almost constantly since 2005. Always building and never arriving.

Then you look at Hugo, Sonny and Kane. Do they stick around for another crack at it? When Jose came it was “can he turn Spurs into winnners?” He goes now and it’ll forever be “only Spurs could turn Jose into a loser.”

So the idea of a change seems too traumatic in a lot of ways. It’s not a good reason though is it?

Don’t let that stop you venting
I mean tonight was weka and spineless

Im fuming tonight, proper angry, and I’m having a couple of beers. So I’ll continue to vent but know I might wake up tomorrow with a more reasonable view of the world. I probably need @parklane1 to tell me I’m knee jerking and Rome wasn’t built in a day. And that fella’s been around long enough to know exactly how long it took to build the Eternal City. Think he was the foreman on the job.

They ain't sticking around if Mourinho has time longer than he should.

We have a decent squad - find the manager for next season, work on who he needs to fill the ?'s below and we can have a good season

Lloris
Aurier ??? ??? Regulion
Hojberg Ndombele
Dele/GLC
??? Kane Son
@Bishop - this kinda covers your post below...

I look at that side and I'm not impressed. The centre back situation poop. Toby is geriateic and Dier has never proven himself good enough as a CB.

Sissoko is an awful player and should never be played as a CM his lack of care for the ball, his consistent hiding and just uselessness preclude him playing.

So the actual spine of the side is weak, old, mediocre and plain useless. It's not a good side, it's lacks balance through the middle.

Now please understand I make no excuses for Jose, o have thought he has been a source of quote a few issues in terms of team setup and some crappy selections. We are close to something but the areas lacking are the most important areas of them all.

The only thing holding me back is @Bedfordspurs point about Pep and Klopp needing time that Jose probably hasn’t had yet. I want to argue against it but it’s a good point no matter how much I don’t like it.

I’m fuming tonight so can’t draw any conclusion on it right now.
I’ll also add that our record vs pool is toxic
I’ve see us lose to inferior pool sides before
And I’ve seen us get bartered before
They have a proper spell on us

the measure now is the next 3 games for me. Especially without Kane

The question marks are exactly how I feel about the side with possibly Lloris worth being looked at as well.

I do feel a more positive manager could get more from this side. If we focused more on possession and attacking play the craziness of the defense might not be so obvious.

I feel the right CB signing would elevate the person next to him too so potentially only one needed

Fuming is appropriate. And while they’re no role
models, Leeds keep hammering away when they’re getting beaten. And even though we had injuries and formation changes, it didn’t look like there was the will to win. And that is unacceptable. Mistakes happen, injuries happen, but not seeming to try, not running into the ground by all the outfield players, is not right.

I don’t think their playing badly
I think their still being stupid
The mistakes we make are basic errors. Sunday league level at times. That happened under Poch, under Jol, under Harry under every Spurs manager I can remember
Until that stupidity changes were not gonna win big prizes
Poch almost nailed it that final season at the lame and that period and we know that Wembley had a huge affect in his opportunity to do deliver what he could

Unless dier demonstrates he can stop basic errors he won’t be staring next season IMO
I agree massively on sissoko. We had is much more ball today without him although there were times when he could have been useful

It's worrying, because that happened under Poch too, you could pretty much pinpoint the moment in that season where the squad went, nah fudge it.

If they are not trying anymore it's only a matter of time before Jose goes, and between now and then we are going to lose a lot of games.

Players always make mistakes, you only notice them when the margins are so small
