Jose Mourinho - SACKED

The problem with Jose is that the football is so awful to watch that unless he brings you success (trophies and top 4), there's no point having him as manager. He'll drive fans away, crap for entertainment and the brand.

There are no signs that he'll bring us that success at the moment or even that we're heading in the vaguely right direction

Why would I mention it
It applies to all teams
It’s not an excuse as I’ve said... it’s just facts that can affect performance
And as I’ve said today the teams that had players playing internationals looked worse this weekend

I asked that because if you had mentioned this BEFORE the game as a reason why we might lose or look disjointed (i.e. not very well coached) then it doesn't look like excuses.

But it sounds like excuses, because we have played similar turgid football when we HAVE had more time to prepare than the opposition; today was not exactly a one-off but it signifies to me that not much coaching to improve our gameplay especially in attack is going on..

Yep

Don’t disagree
I do believe they had all their players there before the internationals other than the signings
For example Kane had 1 day with the team before internationals
Doherty has had 2 days
Winks was out, Tubby was out both with mysterious illnesses or COVID
Sissoko was out too wasnt he
And most of our team have been away and started internationals. It’s just silly the way the fixtures have been done for this season and it will break players
As I said earlier there midfield looked very fresh and capable. I may be wrong but I think that everyone apart from the defence was their all week in training for them

we don't lose to Everton!
but we do now!
sorry, he is in charge of the team and they were dreadful!
he sorts it and quickly or..........

But the turgid football was getting results post lockdown wasn’t it
No reason for Jose to assume it won’t again but also no reason for him not to adapt and change too

the players need to buy in, it's clearly not clicked yet

he'll only get so long to try

for the players sake I hope they fall in, if they don't their next manager won't be half as smart or successful as this one

Look at today's game vs Everton and compare with our game at home near the end of last season vs Everton, also at home.
I watched today's but not that 1-0 win last season; i bet nobody can realistically say how we have improved our play today compared to back in June or July (forgetting the two scorelines)...if you can please detail said improvments here...

Getting results from Turgid football can only go so far, i'm sure you'd agree.
If the coaching doesn't improve (no signs that it has tbh, and you could argue no signs for Jose's coaching generally for the last 5 years) then he'll be out before xmas imo

We looked better today than the win last season. We actually created more today
They also looked much better
That game last season was the worst game I’ve seen in a long rime before the England game this week

So either he hasnt got them playing yet, or he's lost them already.

My point above remains that unless you think he'll bring success, there's no point having him given the turgid quality of the football. I struggle to see that he'll bring us success

you can win with turgid football, it can go just as far as any other style, because you don't get points for that

Last time we lost to them Harry was in charge and we had players like bale and Modric in the side

I think the last time was pre-xmas 2012 actually with those two late LATE goals under AVB....

Last time they won at our ground was indeed in Harry's first season with us though

Maybe
I’ve said countless times his turgid coaching in the last 5 years win more trophies than we as a club had in 20 plus years
I’m not making apologies for him but agin their facts

I think if he can't bring success then no one can*, thats a worry

*AVB obviously could but we fudged that one up and he'll never come back :(

unless Bale can convince him...

I think the evidence outside perhaps Italy suggests otherwise. Football is more weighted towards progressive/attacking teams, due to changes in offside laws, giving benefit of doubt in offside situations to attackers etc.

Jose seems fast becoming George Graham because after lots of success playing mainly defensive football, he doesn't seem to have adapted his ways and i think if he leaves us before xmas that will be it for him at the top level of the game; he really is in the last chance saloon with us career-wise
