Danny Rose

Papers reporting he’s negotiating personal terms. He wants a house next to a KFC and time off training for a weekly interview with a journalist at The Saudi Sportswashing Machine Chronicle.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine have agreed a deal to sign Tottenham left-back Danny Rose on loan for the rest of the season.

Manager Steve Bruce wants to sign the 29-year-old England international after season-ending injuries to Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems.

Elements of the deal are still to be resolved but it is hoped they will be before Friday's transfer deadline.

Rose has made 16 Tottenham appearances this season but only five since Jose Mourinho became manager on 20 November.

Tottenham full-back Kyle Walker-Peters has also moved on loan, to Southampton for the remainder of the season.

Surprised by this move as Danny Rose and Sunderland have a big mutual affection. Rose described the season at Sunderland as the best of his career and still attended Sunderland matches at times.

£2m fee, plus we'll save £1m or so in wages...for someone who has fallen out of favour and who's relationship with various parties seems to have gone a bit sour.

Hopefully he'll have a good second half of the season and then we can get £10m-£15m or so from them in the summer. Think that would be good for all parties

I think we need him out the dressing room way more than the money

Surely he can't be unaware of the rivalry...can he?

Saudi Sportswashing Machine-Sunderland is every bit as fierce as Spurs-Arsenal, if not more so as the two teams have had very little to cheer about over the last couple of decades other than their relative standings and local derby results.

I know a couple of Mackems. I'll have to ask them what they reckon to it.

He played a season there on loan. It's hardly a gross act of treachery.
