The thing is everyone is a gamble as we are not in a position to purchase the experienced proven players.

I would rather spend 20m on Leandro than 20m on Remy put it that way.

Modric was a gamble and look how that panned out.

Of course.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't sign Damiao.

I'm not even saying that we shouldn't pay €20 million for him.

I just wouldn't go as far as saying "I like this" - as if he was a surefire fantastic signing at a bargain price.
 
€20 euros mind so closer to 16mil GBP.

Every transfer is a gamble, even ones that you think are sure fire bets. I guess the more you spend the less of a gamble it should be but it doesn't always work out like that. He's worth a punt I think.

That I agree. I guess what is meant by "I like this" is that we are targeting the areas we need reinforcements. Also lets be honest we have been so deprived of real good signings that we are just too excited about anyone coming in.

Hell im excited about the Vert even though I have not seen one thing about him.

Its a bit like being deprived of sex and after a year some fatty comes in - you still would - even if she isnt your type, not great looking but she does the job

I more like the intent compared to the player we're actually buying...


We're trying to buy young up and coming players who can lead the line for years to come. I'm hoping Bloomfield has done his job and they know if he's good enough or not..
