What a bizarre mixture of emotions this evening, avoiding all other scores till full time made it even sweeter.

It's fantastic to get the three points, to have Son back and for Ferny to grab a winner.

Defensive unit needs to have a look at themselves though.

Yes - Rose is good with space to burst into, but you know he is going to try a left footed cross, so it is pretty easy to defend against most of the time.

Whenever he checks back, the move just dies.

PS - did people notice that when Llorente headed it, Lamela was running towards goal at pace to try and get involved, whereas Son and Moura were just watching, stationary? All good forwards keep moving towards goal and get the rebounds and deflections.

probably a good chance Sonny couldn't see from the fatigue, and Moura was kicked up in the air before he even got on the pitch tonight, it seemed. Let Erik do the running with his funny bobble headed running style......

Jeez

Hats off to anyone who predicted these results:

The Dippers can't muster a win at home
LIV 1 1 LEI

City beaten by the northern power of SportsDirect
NEW 2 1 MNC

Cheatski thumped
BOU 4 0 CHE

United scramble to a late equaliser at home, against the mighty Burnley
MNU 2 2 BUR

Arse scrape a home win against the worst team ever
ARS 2 1 CAR

West Ham thumped 3-0 by Wolves
WOL 3 0 WHU

Spurs losing with 20 minutes to go

And then...

We really need to practise crossing. Some of that was pub standard.

i don't understand why it was so poor; it seems like every other team will use them far more dangerously than we will, and we've made a conscious effort to use them more since Kane got injured, so I bet we've been practising. It's a shame because Rose was totally dominant tonight, but his end product was so frustrating I think Winks edges him for MotM.

Well done lads, good character from Llorente to keep going (that miss... ugh.). Although I do wonder why he is so brick right now, I imagine it's probably confidence and if I say he's trash he'll morph into Sissoko Mk 2 (a good thing) and I'll look foolish. I think he's improved while Kane has been out anyway and he might just not be suited to a secondary role needing a few games to get into his stride.

the style we're playing at the moment isn't really our "thing" though is it? Prior to Harry getting crocked, Llorente came on with around 11 seconds to go to waste some time and make a nuisance of himself. We're not really a "fuzz it in the box and see what breaks" side.

That said those players earn more in a week than most earn in 5 years, so they should all be able to cross, with both feet, and their left testicle.

Amazing comeback all things considered! So pleased Llorente got one in the end.

If we can somehow beat Saudi Sportswashing Machine then Liverpool will be just 4 points ahead — and maybe just 2 ahead of city - going away to Stratford. hopefully a hostile atmosphere for them...

Ponderous. But one of those games where it felt like we’d win it. Eventually. Much better second half with Moura on. And better once we’d remembered that Llorente’s head is not attached to his ankle (yes you, Danny Rose).

Loved Llorente’s run over to Poch once he’d scored. Poch has obviously been encouraging him and showing faith in his ability to score. Paid off.

@milo - Winks MOTM for me. Constantly working hard on and off the ball tonight.
Shouts for Son and Moura.

Good result hard won. Especially looking at results above and below us.

Great second half performance. Created chances, kept going with great effort and belief, some very good performances there. Completely dominant without letting Watford creating much on the break.

First half was a bit meh. Neither team really created much, but we need to avoid these slow starts to not put ourselves in the position where we need to play catch up.

Batten down the hatches, it's a Pirate OMT

As @LemonadeMoney said, we just needed some piratical magic to get as back on track.

@milo Pirate55 for MOTM. It really needed something special me hearties. !!!!!!!!

That wasn't the easiest watch but that makes the victory all the sweeter in the end. Massive result.

fudge Tyler. fudge Deeney. fudge Chelsea. fudge yes .
It’s never easy to watch Spurs when Martin Tyler is commentating and constantly referring to his encyclopedia of anti Spurs facts in between ejaculating at every half chance watford created. Sometimes I think he reads more about us than I do, the bitter biased droning clam.

I luckily watched a Dutch stream. The bloody thing was ahead of even the live ticker feed! Don't know how they swung that. o_O
