Harry Kane MBE

Looked injured to me all tournament. Don't expect to see him in a Spurs shirt til September I'm afraid. Hopefully I'm wrong

I'm going to say something a bit out there

I think the likes of Dele, Dier, and Harry are going to struggle in international tournaments because of playing full seasons for Spurs under Poch. They have to work so hard and rarely get a break that by the end of the season they are cream crackered, physically and mentally

Harry has scored 6 in this tournament but in general open play he has looked leggy from the first game. It was the same in Euro 2016 but without the goals. Dele and Dier were not the same either back then

Someone like Trippier is lucky because he is rotated during the season. He doesn't play the same volume of games as the others I mentioned.

He's also not had the best service in most of the games either.

I don’t think service is the issue. When fit he creates chances for himself by getting the ball, running with it and shooting from 25 yards. We didn’t see any of that at the WC, nor after his last injury. Looks injured to me, or knackered as someone said. Either way, he hasn’t been right

It's part of the issue. Many of the goals he scores are the result of chances created by others.

I agree with the guy who thinks Harry hasn't been the same since his last injury. Maybe its just a lack of fitness after the layoff, but I think he will need to be rested up until at least mid September with a slow integration.

I would give him a month off for mental and physical rest. I said on here last year that I think Lane will be one of those that burns out at 29. You some players legs just go. I could then see him drop back in a Sheringham role.

As long as they play well for Spurs that's OK by me as that is from where the bread and butter comes from.

Agree, don’t think he’s been that good this tournament partly because of himself and partly the supply from his team mates. He’s had a couple of chances that he’s normally gobble up and didn’t finish. On a side note concerning number of injuries to our players with Kane playing with an injury,Dele carrying one for most of tournament, Trippier going off injured. Not great...

yet FIFA want to introduce that stupid world cup chmapionship in summers where there isnt a world cup or European Championships, just to make sure every top player is well and truly knackered

Well they must be mental, we did not lose because of Kane ( even if it was his worst game in a England shirt imo), we lost because Croatia were better then us.
Not wanting to say this in a way of criticising Kane, but if Kane had taken that chance and it was 2-0 (or even side footed it to Sterling for a tap in) would we of lost? I think not. We were much better than them in the first half and when you are superior like that against a good side you have to get the second otherwise you are almost always made to pay and thats what happened. Over the 90 minutes it was pretty even, they werent better - we were in the first half and when we didnt take advantage they built from that and were better in the second half and took the momentum....

You are right he did miss a easy ( for him) chance and if we had gone 2-0 we would probably have won, however over the 90 minutes Croatia were the better side ( imo). Now as i say I am not blaming Kane for our defeat ( as ALL players miss chances) and Kane is no different to any others.

If Kane didn’t score against Tunisia it’s doubtful we would have got there!

You don't lose a game because you miss a chance to score.
Of course not, but in a tight game when you have the momentum you always need that second goal and unfortunately he had the chance to take it. Kane in isolation is in no way responsible....
