*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Juventus ***

I now worry for the future again. A win against Juve would've said more about where we are going, a loss just adds fuel to the fire of speculation and how close we are to returning from where we came.

The papers and pundits will be on our case again, agitating for our best and brightest to go elsewhere (even when Kane himself should've done better with a number of chances over the two legs). Depending on how the rest of the season goes, we will see at least 1 player leave over our lack of forward momentum (again we stalled tonight and have gone backwards in the league) and struggle to adapt.

Bit disappointed with that comment. Not very classy.

No, perhaps not classy but an interesting insight from an actual experienced professional into how we're seen, as opposed to the usual bs from opposing fans, which, rightly or wrongly, we dismiss as bitter nonsense.

We probably haven't done that reputation any good by playing up to it and losing a tie we were firmly in control of at 150 minutes.

Proud of the team and not for one second do I doubt we will learn whatever we need to learn from this in order to get better for the future.

You could just tell Juve were proper up for it tonight. They are a quality team that really wanted the result and there is no shame in losing to a side like that, particularly when we also gave as good as we got. For all the talk about oh so clever experience from Juve, they didn’t shut us out in the first game with a 2 goal advantage. With better finishing, we’d be laughing.

Ahh well, we are still moving into a great new stadium and the only way is up for our club. And the perverse thing about modern football is, we’re now probably likely to make top 4 by virtue of having one game a week to prepare for. And we can go hard for the FA Cup.

So proud, love this club. We are all on a journey and I have nothing to complain about.

Although Poch needs to play it back to the players so may be next time they won’t let a player walk through the centre of them unchallenged to score. I am still furious about that.

Absolutely right. To be fair to Chiellini, he’s just saying what he and other people are thinking.

I hope Poch and the players see it and it fudging stings so that they can go out next time and prove him wrong.

Very arrogant

They didn’t impress me

Some great last ditch defending but created so little and got away with every dirty trick

I do think if the pen had been awarded it would have made us play with more pace and energy which may have suited us

Well said that man (or woman or gender-neutral). The media will be gushing with talk of bottlers and that Poch has to win a trophy and that our better players will be off. And I say let them. We know how great our Club is and how well we are doing given our financial constraints. Given that the same media thought we'd crash out at the group stage, fcuk 'em!

Barzagli's two stamps on Son and the subsequent kick after him were three red cards, really. I really hope UEFA take retrospective action. fudging horrible. He was clearly after injuring Son throughout the match. Dirty fudging bastard.

Chiellini can say what he want for all I care, he still hasnt won a CL and he never will.

I agree but now it’s out there Poch should use it to fire up the players.
Sure but it is not really that accurate. Typically we are strong at the back and strong mentally I feel. It is just a dingdonghead thing to say when being magnanimous is the class thing to do.

Juventus won't win this cup, I'm certain of that.

And his career will be over soon and he'll become a fat alcoholic wobbling on a shabby bar stool in a dimly lit dive bar at the end of a tinkle-splattered alleyway looking for the keys to his Ferrari.

I saw an interview with him and he was very complimentary of us.

Defensively, right now, we aren’t as solid as we were. Against Liverpool, we conceded two awful goals, against Juve, we conceded 4 goals in two games, against City we let in 4. I’ve no problem with what he said. We should use it as inspiration and nothing else.

I'm extremely disappointed, but I had a feeling it would end just like this. We were the better side in both games, but again we concede with the only shots on target the opposition had. That's been a consistent trend for us, especially in the CL, and something Poch will have to look into.

I don’t disagree about Chiellini but sadly the growing narrative is that we are unable to win the big games that lead to trophies. Any psychological tricks that can shift the small margins in our favour should be welcomed.
