Youth Players/On-Loan Thread 2020/21

Makes sense - helps cover the academy costs and hopefully sold with a healthy % sell-on share

Apparently the u-23s are playing vs Leyton Orient today. Supposedly streamed to YouTube by Leyton Orient. I'll see if I can find a link for anyone interested.

Our U23s are going full Bayern Munich.

6-2 down so far.
They got pumped. I blinked and we were 3-0 down... then the O's let us back in to make it 3-2 at the break.

Then they pumped in a few more second half, whilst their keeper had a cigar.

Watching the highlights and that backline was fudging terrible.

So the score should have been 6-4 or 6-5, my takeaways

- We try to play a good possession/passing game (and at moments looked good at it)
- We got pumped by the direct play (good lesson for the boys trying to play the "right way")
- The keepers could have done a better job
- Marsh looked good in the midfield role, not as effective in the FB role
- Poch Jr put in 3 really nice crosses (has quick feet too) from right side

Overall, not a bad game to watch, good experience for the boys.

Shows the difference between youth and men’s football and why it is absolutely imperative to get our best young players out playing real men’s football at 18/19/20.

The u23 league is a waste of time, young players need to play against and with experienced players, very few can step up from that level to first team. Teams rarely play squad players in these games.
