Very impressed by Yevhen Konoplyanka for Ukraine tonight. 22 years old and plays for Juande Ramos at Dnipro. He demonstrated some excellent dribbling ability and pace as he regularly ran with the ball down England's left hand side and got some decent crosses in, and of course, he scored a fantastic goal with a superbly placed finish right in the corner from distance. Definitely a player to keep an eye on.

No Arshavin/Rebrov references but the only reason he looked good is because he was given the freedom of the city of London last night by the inept displays of Glen "I rush forward at every opportunity and then stand there" Johnson and James "I don't know how to track back" Milner.

Hmm, my only criticism of Eastern European players, particularly Russians and Ukrainians, is their workrate/desire/insert cliche here.
 
Who? Exactly. Was listening to a pod with the writer of the benefoot article about Janssen and when asked who else from the Eredivisie would be worth looking at, she mentioned this guy. 23 years old, AM, and the kind of player who can turn a game on his own. We haven't been linked with him, as far as I know, but he would be very cheap with significant upside. He'll need to beef up a bit though.

About 3 mins in just after he scores the rebound off his own shot he has a complete fail on the celebration by falling over the hoarding . Funny.
