Sergio Reguilon

I was going to reply to Mil's post but in my view
- you have Kane and New CF - I think we'll still need one
- Bale, Son, Bergwijn and one or Moura or Lamela for the wide forward positions, whether in a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 formation
- Dele is the big question - could play in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1
- Per your post, we have plenty of midfielders unless we're going top play 4-3-3 with Reguilon and Doherty as full-backs

So I dont see many departures. I'd like to see Lamela or Moura leave as I dont rate either and by the time you include Dele, we seem a little overloaded. That said, I could see them staying. CM again we're a bit fat, unless we play 4-3-3

You can add Lo Celso to the forwards too, he can play #10 and on the right. Given our lack of creativity, I could see him played there when fit.

We need to get ozzie back
---------------------- Lloris ----------------------
----------------------- Alder ---------------------
Regullion ------------Dier ----------------- Doherty
---------------------- Lo Celso ---------------------
-------- Moura -------- Alli ------------- Son ------
------------------ Kane ------- Bale -----------------

No Hojbjerg?

Just don’t forget the potential volume of games this season and in a reduced time frame. What might look like a big squad initially could easily get strung out over Xmas and into the new year when the key games hopefully come along. Players might need to be patient for playing time but I’m sure it will come.

The buy-back clause is fine. As someone posted last night, its effectively them paying us €10-€15m for us to take him of their hands for a couple years!

OK, we'd lose an established (at that point) player, but we'd be compensated for it and there's a decent chance that they'll fine a shiney new flavour of the month LB in Brazil in the meantime anyway. Its the Real way

we've seen folks walk out on medicals before - a keeper that i can't bother to remember - not counting chickens yet

If RM decides to buy back Reguilon inside the two years - can he refuse? Or does the clause mean that he has to go back?

I wouldn’t worry about the clause, it’s win win for us anyway. I’m skeptical Real would buy him back anyway. He was voted best left back in Spain, so if they don’t want him now a couple of years in PL wouldn’t necessarily change much. They’d probably have a new prospect by then or some sexy new Brazilian, or they won’t be able to afford the fee - they aren’t in great shape financially. Look at Ceballos, he did well at Arsenal yet still wanted to get rid of him again. If worse comes and they take him back Sess would be much better developed by then.....

Pretty sure that those clauses mean the player is under obligation to return if the selling club wishes.
They are stating that it is a condition of sale, that they retain the right to buy back in two years time. And the player and buying club have to agree to that for the initial deal to go ahead.

They could buy back to sell at a profit if he is a huge success here tbf

Which clausde trumps which though, does the pre-emption clause override the buy back clause? If so, all Spurs need is someone to bid £80m and RM have to match it.

I would imagine Reals end would be set at the buy back figure for the length that the clause runs

Timing would be key
But I believe that of someone offers say a silky figure next summer ... £50m
Madrid have first option to match that

However if that doesn’t happen, Madrid can offer the buy back at any time within an agreed timeframe and he would be allowed to talk to them about resigning

Levy is a clever dude, he gets someone from another club to bid and have talks and Madrid will have to match it if they want him back. The other team then pull out last minute and he signs for Madrid for extra profit.
Happy days.

That’s if I’m right
