OMT *******TOTTENHAM VS WEST BROM ***********

After qualifying to the League Cup final, the players must be still celebrating it. Traditionally, we have been very vulnerable in the league after doing well in the Cups. WBA have been very difficult opponents for us in recent years. Disappointingly we lost to them at home earlier in the season. And last season they were humiliating us 3-0 before we came back to draw 3-3, with Eriksen, who else, scored the equaliser in 4th min of injury time. We have failed to beat WBA in our last 3 matches. So, this is going to be a very difficult match. But we badly need to win to stay in the top 4 race.

We again have to look at Eriksen for inspiration. He has been saving us a lot of points with his late goals this season. Amazingly he also scored that late goal to make it 3-3 with WBA last season. After scoring 2 brilliant goals against Sheff Utd, hope Eriksen will continue his goal run. Frankly, Eriksen with his clinical finishes, should be scoring more goals. But he tends to go missing in matches before coming up with those late goals. Hope we can keep him active for longer periods. After his goal run, Kane's goals have dried up in recent matches. Hope he can get back his goal scoring run as we don't have many players who can score goals. Apart from Eriksen and Kane, Chadli is our only other player who can score goals. If we are to score goals here, it has to be from these 3.

Our midfield have been getting better in recent matches. It is nice to see Dembele and Stambouli gelling together. We should continue to play them together in midfield. It was nice to see Lamela getting back in recent matches. IMO, he is much better than Townsend as he has better dribbling and crossing abilities. Apart from scoring penalties, just can't see what Townsend brings to us. Wish we can still bring on Lennon. His pace and dribbling would always trouble the opponents like WBA.

Just don't know what to expect from our defence anymore. They are simply too error-prone and unable to keep any clean sheet nowadays. We really need Vertonghen and Fazio to improve their defending together. And Vertonghen should avoid getting involved in any controversies. It will only affect him and the team. Surely, Lloris should be back in goal as he is our no.1 goalie. Hope he will continue his great form in recent matches and help us keep a clean sheet for once !

After failing to win the last 2 matches in the Cups, we badly need to get back into winning ways. It is going to be a difficult match but hope we will get all the 3 points somehow.

Any official team news yet ?

The team should forget about the League Cup final for now and need to turn up for this match positively. This is a must-win match for us if we want to stay in the top 4 race. Hope we will get that all-important win somehow.

Everyone fit and available except for Nabil who is at AFCON. Tom Collomose of the Standard has tweeted the Lloris starts.

Bloody hell just remembered how we were 3-0 down in the first half and missed a penalty in the first half last year.

Can't believe we drew 3-3

Paulinhos last chance? Talks of teams interest. He has been far from brick whenever hes come off the bench this season. In his favoured role behind the striker so less defensive responsibility which is a weakness. Lets hope our away fans support him and he can show us why hes worth keeping as depth until atleast end of season.

Thanks for posting.

Paulinho is going to get slated the second a pass or touch doesn't come off. But a decent team and glad the Brazilian is getting a chance. He and the forwards won't get much time on the ball. We'll have to move the ball well. If our defence holds firm, I think we will edge it.
