***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vNorwich City, Sunday 23rd February 16:00

Several things wrong today:

1. Players knackered from the 3000 mile round trip to Ukraine. Madness to use so many first teamers in that game

2. AVB-esque starting line-up. Against a team like Norwich, we should either be playing two strikers or at the very least be playing with Eriksen as our creative outlet and focus on overwhelming them with fluid, passing football. He's by far the best player at this club and its scandalous he didn't get on the pitch today. But no, we started as if we were a Mourinho team against one of the world's elite, away from home, defending a narrow first leg lead.

3. General sloppyness. Adebayor's touch was awful today. Players were making careless mistakes, giving the ball away, trying to dribble players players they weren't capable of beating...was shambolic.

Really really poor today. Yet another manager who has started promisingly and then suddenly starts making the most basic of basic mistakes. Infuriating...

I agree GY, also last season AVB proved he knew how to setup a defence, under Sherwood it's been keystone cops pretty much every game, we've been getting away with it but let's not pretend this result hasn't been coming.

Think it's worth bearing in mind that we beat Saudi Sportswashing Machine 4-0 with that lineup. Don't think Sherwood was necessarily being defensive.

Season after season at around this stage, we seem to phone in at least one of these performances, usually against poor-quality opposition. It might be correlated with the Europa fixtures, but I suspect there's more to it. Almost as though they want to throw away the possibility of top 4 to take the pressure off themselves.

Disappointing, a lot of things that went wrong today.

Didn't like our attitude at the start of the match, was hoping we would come out better in the second, but Norwich scored before we could get our feet wet.

We have to find a way to start games like this stronger and with a bit more intensity.

exactly...it sapiens every time we have a chance of doing something...getting. somewhere. Sherwood leaves our two best. players out....its a Jole.. and more mind bogling..oh. well. roll. on new manager ...please. make it happen soon....

We cant blame the EL, if we want to be in the CL then we will still have the same issue of midweek games.

Just back from work. Would it be a waste of time watching the highlights?

A couple of missed proper chances from Soldado and Chadli. Adebayor in a couple of good positions, but unable to get the right touches. Some at best half way decent crosses. A through ball from Lennon to Dembele that he could only get his studs on unfortunately.

We weren't without chances and it wasn't like Norwich created a ton either. The frustrating thing was that we didn't really get going with any urgency until we had gone behind and what looked like a combination of a lack of movement, lack of effort in challenges and a lack of passing accuracy for looooong stretches.

You rest players in the EL you need to win the subsequent EPL game or you've ****ed up both. Thanks Tim.

Yes but we'd be playing Tuesdday/Wednesday then Saturday rather than Sunday. I don't care what anyone says, playing on Sunday puts you at a disadvantage, especially when Liverpool play before us and win most of the time, puts us under even more pressure.

**** me what a waste of money that trip was today.

Dire. Absolutely effing dire stuff from EVERYONE involved with Spurs.

Buck starts with Sherwood. What a hideous team selection. One attacker, one winger and the rest were midfielders, defensive midfielders and defenders (and a goalkeeper). Negative against NORWICH. It should have been 4-2-3-1 with Eriksen playing the playmaking role off of Adebayor and two natural wingers in the form of Lennon and one of Townsend/Chadli. One of Dembele/Paulinho alongside Capoue. But no, golden boy Bentaleb keeps his place, Eriksen is left to rot on the bench and Dembele is played on the facking wing! Horrible decisions before the game led to our downfall in the game, no question.

Performance was turgid from start to finish. No urgency and ultimately no quality.

That result has been coming, though. The team displays in at least half of Tim's time here have been every bit as bad but we've managed to draw or win those games. Top four, no chance, I wouldn't be surprised if we drop like a stone now teams have worked us out and end up 7th.

I think that's own of the issues but the ridiculous travelling that we do doesn't help at all. We do more air miles than the all the English sides in the champions league put together

...embarrassing, really - to see Paulinho not track back after Bentaleb's cough-up for their goal - to see Verts not give a F...sad times...
...with the quality on this team we deserve better...
COYS

At the minute i think you can put our first XI into three groups, one group who want away, lloris, verts and soldano, another group not good enough, rose naughton, capoue and another group who are glad just to play premiership football at the minute dawson, lennon and dembele, and the rest, who could do something but fliter about between these groups.........compare us to liverpool its like chalk and cheese ,a side that has scored the most premiership goals and have got players that are hungrier and are more of a team unit where we just so dis-jointed sometimes and turnup when the going gets easy i.e swansea/Saudi Sportswashing Machine games

We never do well against sides that are up for it,but like everyone says this result was coming, we've won nine away somehow but when we come up against sides that going for something we're just not there. It be another three losses,in march....liverpool,goons and chelski and perhaps benfica on top if we get through.

£100 million......where did it all go??
