The conversation here is a perfect example of why the minimum wage is flawed. It is illegal to allow an American worker to compete with an illegal on wages, therefore the illegal will get the job 99% of the time.

The reality isn't that an American will then get the job, it's more likely that the job will just not exist. That is all down to laws like the minimum wage. They don't help poor people, they only serve to make it harder for the least skilled in society to find work.
