King will play like he has all season against Man U, and then go to the Euro's, and then Mick Cooper (King Hater) can apologize, to King, me, but most importantly, himself.

Not sure where Mick is showing any 'hate' in his post...?

It's been coming for a while now and a quick player/sprinter (Walnut) exposed what we've all feared would ultimately happen. You cannot skip training all week and keep putting on great performances once you're over 30

He struggled to move on Sunday and we need to carefully reasses the stiation for the future

Welbeck and Hernandez would be rubbing their little poacher hands right now, so hopefully he's given a rest for that one. I'd rather have Dawson hoofing than King strolling.

King's weakness has been exposed by Emirates Marketing Project and Arsenal.

while his past record is great to behold, it remains to be seen if other teams will take advantage on King's weakness in coming games.

if I were playing against spurs my gameplan would be to pile my biggest or fastest man on him, and wait for the mistake.

    he hates me
I'm a much better self appointed "best Spurs fan" evvah, than he is.

I think its just bitchy jealousy.

    @ everyone except Mick

I think the fact that some people despise King says they are (he is) not the best fan at all

King has always been my favourite player. I think he is showing signs of some kind of demise but still has a lot to offer. I just hope he realises when enough is enough for his own healths sake.

King was playing alongside Kaboul on Sunday, do any of you think that he (Kaboul) had a good game? I only ask because reading this thread one could easily come to the conclusion that King was the only player that a poor game.

And as for those of you that appear to have a hard-on about King's pace, or lack of pace, I would suggest you cast your mind back to when Naybet signed for Spurs because I would suggest that when he signed he was no faster than King is today. Funny how he his lack of pace was not an issue then, instead we focussed on his ability and leadership skills.

    I'm not.

The whole team fell apart in panic, because we played a 2 man midfield, with an on field spectator from Croatia and the entire structure, discipline and shape of the team fell apart like a house of cards.

Ledleys issues simply got highlighted by the fiasco that the team turned into, his ability to rescue the team, as he has done so many times in the past, have simply gone with his knees.

The decision to play Krancjar was the single biggest mistake, and was the catalyst for the disintegration of the team, along with the apparent inability of anyone to hold the line and inspire the side to play cohesively.

The midfield was where we lost the game

Anyone who has watched him over the years can see how much he struggles to run with a bit of pace nowadays. Past it no but certainly in the home straight of his career.

Why didn't you or anyone else say this before the Gooner game? all i saw was near enough everyone putting him in their starting X1, everyone hoping and praying his name is on the team sheet every weekend, everyone being saddened when his name isn't on the teamsheet and instantly feeling less confident.

Fast forward one game and he's now finished.

    when you watched the game.
Did you see a faultless and imperious display of top notch defending.

Or a once poised, elegant and impassable defender, reduced to a shambling caricature, chasing shadows?

He hasn't really been that exposed in the last few seasons, and my feeling was that his inability to train has finally caught up with him, and has been laid bare in relatively humiliating circumstances.

As I said in my earlier post - I pretty much worship the ground the guy walks on, and am as committed to his abilities and skill as anyone. I found it hard to watch, seeing him exposed as he was, and look so hapless. I would be surprised to see him getting anywhere back to his best form, unless he can get himself properly match fit.

Putting Kabouls brain back in, and having a midfield of substance will help him to play a few more games, but without medical intervention to allow him to train, I can't see him ever getting anywhere back to his best.

Dont beat me over this, it hurts to have to say it, and I'm not some whiney brat crying because we got beaten.

King still has A LOT to offer. He is not the same as before but his reading of the game is still very good. It's time the other CBs stepped up to the plate now and stopped looking so much for his hand to hold during the game (I believe Kaboul is the only one of the younger cbs that has shown some ability to do this, but needs to rise further imo).

Likke others have said our midfield didn't protect our defence and also left Ade/Saha very isolated. I also think we didn't play smart like we have in the past against Arsenal. RVP should have been given barely any time to breath let alone turn, shoot play others in etc. Playing deep was always risky when a player like him is given time to take pot-shots (one of the few in the Arsenal team that I worry about in this regard).

Still, perhaps we were also too ****y before the game anyway, and with our buffer of 7 points, hopefully this will be the wake-up call to ficus and make sure of a top 3 finish.

Time for the team all over the pitch to up their game and become hard to break down (like away vs Liverpool for example).
