Well....... in one scenario, Cheatski FC* is for sale

In the other scenario Cheatski FC* plus £1bn of loans is for sale

*They used to be Chelsea FC and then they changed their name to FC Chelsea or Chelsea Athletics and Football Club or something when they went bankrupt, to avoid having to pay anything to all their debtors and weasel into a transaction with Ken Bates and then Abramovich. CHEATS.

If there is one shareholder and one lender to the club, as I believe is the case, then its the same thing.

For example, say someone wanted to pay £500m for the club. If there's no debt then the £500m goes to the one shareholder. If there's £1bn debt, then zero goes to the shareholder and the loan provider (the same person) has to write-down his loan to £500m so that he can sell the club.

It's a starting point £1bn to be in the game

You imply that in that scenario, Abramovic would walk away with £500m and forget the £500m still owing to him.

I'm saying he would want £1.5bn rather than £0.5bn for his club, his investment.

...which isn't the way things usually work. You value a business on a debt/cash free basis, and then work out the implications of the capital structure

Abramovich could sell his club/debt for cash/equity in part or full... So it might not be too difficult, if the price/valuation is reasonable

Been a while since West Ham were our feeder club and it's probably not realistic, but I would really like us to sign Declan Rice.

Havertz is a player we must be looking at.

He’s the best player outside of the top 6 in my view if you include potential/age/current ability.

Sadly he’s out of our price range since he signed a new deal

Flavour of the month with pundits of late.
The same ones who wax lyrical about Ben Chilwell as “best left back in England”.

David Brooks is above him based on that criteria surely.

Declan Rice and Ben Chilwell are good players.
David Brooks is also but were Brooks is pleasing his undoubted attacking flair.

Lanzini and Felipe Anderson would be good additions from them too. That said, I cant see them selling to us, and even if they were willing to, the prices would be prohibitive.

We are going to need to be somewhat smart in the market this summer given the number of overseas players which we have coupled with typical prices for English players. Releasing Vorm is a no brainer, and ideally bringing in a young or old English 3rd choice. Sessegnon and Wan Bissaka equally have to be pretty high up the list

Not sure we need him with Son, Lucas, Dele all being better.

Feel we need a creative type more in midfield than the AM/2nd striker mold

    Why those two full backs?
Both would be prohibitively expensive and are still very raw
Surely we should be aiming for a more finished product for the money they would cost

I’ve been banging that drum since January
He is the nee Ozil which may sound toss but it’s easy to forget what he did in his career before retiring at the arse
