We had one similar against us vs the gooners a few years back. It was from a corner or free kick, and it brushed off Sanchez' head, and Giroud nodded it in at the back post, clearly offside. It's a silly rule! If it's played in the direction of an attacker that is offside, it should be offside, even if it touches a defender on the way there.
It's a different story if the ball completely changes direction on the way.

The Offside rule needs changing that was ridiculous last night.

Hugo was magnificent except when he had to kick

Years back, the rule was how I described in my previous post. It needs to go back to that.

Seems 99% of fans agree that O/S ruling is wrong and should change. Let's see if "they" change it this time, or continue to ruin top games.

Lloris isn't world class. His kicking, commanding his area and inability to deal with crosses puts him below the truly world class goalkeepers.

Huge Lorries gets mentioned in this pod by Ollie Gooner Giroud
They got drunk together and waded into a duck pond at 5am or something and played petanque, after winning the World Cup.
    Bitingly insightful stuff.

I am surprised we have not tied him down to 2024. He is still a quality keeper

Ridiculous choice of metrics. They have no correlation with each other, and both are utterly useless for telling if a GK is any good.
    Totally useless statistic.

    https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnati...esny#:~:text=This is actually,really good one.

This is actually pretty exciting. Savorani is a very highly regarded goalkeeper coach, considered one of the best in Serie A a couple of years ago. His work and training is widely considered the primary reason behind the rapid improvement in recent years of Alisson Becker and Wojciech Szczęsny during their time in the Italian league. Savorani was most recently keepers coach at Roma beginning in 2016. Savorani also has history with Conte — they worked together when Conte was managing Siena. Our friends at Chiesa di Totti even made an impassioned plea for Roma to hold on to Savorani whatever the cost... which didn’t work — Savorani left the club this summer with the appointment of Jose Mourinho.

At Spurs, Savorani will obviously be working with Hugo Lloris who is at (or perhaps just past) his prime, but I’m most excited to see what he can do with Pierluigi Gollini and Tottenham’s cadre of younger academy keepers like Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman. Coaching can’t fully make up for talent, but it’s really incredible what a good coach can do. Spurs look like they’ve just signed a really, really good one.

So why did Savorani leave Roma when Mou Mou joined, what happened there?

Seems more and more likely Hugo is off. Won't begrudge him rm returning going to play if that's his wish.

I don't think Gollini is a starter for us. Would like to see us sign a young English keeper. Pope would be high in my list.

Be nice if Hugo stayed. But I don't see it.
