I'm regarded as a slow player because I take my time in a pre shot routine to hit the ball straight.
It's tiresome pointing out to my mates that my 15 seconds per shot is quicker than 5 mins every three holes looking for a ball that they have not bothered to aim correctly.
My 85 is a good 20 mins quicker than their 95.

    Agree
I have the same pre-shot routine for my shots and one for putting too, fundamentals are so important and often over-looked

That course looks really nice Mark; apart from that tree in front of the 4th green, by the brook. That is just mean.

    Shame I'm >70 miles away.

I'm impressed you're scoring so well with all that water. But surely you can't do all that in 2 hours, you must be joking/jogging. 6 minutes per hole? Nah.

The course is fantastic, very good team of greenkeepers working on it all the time, also very good in winter too and never had temporary greens or tees

Before COVID it only had 140 members, my pal joined and told me about how good it is and how cheap too but even now with lots of people playing it's still not getting that hammered and it recovers well and fast

If I ever joined a course I would join Toot, it's £1,400 per year but I can't justify that cost currently especially as I don't like playing in the Winter would rather pay the £16 - £20 each time

I'm a fast player and currently playing well hitting most fairways and greens so it's easy for me to get round especially when I was the first person on the course after the 6th hole, there is not huge walks between greens and the next tees either

Managed to get a couple of bargain wedges on ebay in the last few days

I love Titleist Vokey wedges, SM8's are the latest model and around £140 each new

I got a brand new 48 and 60 degree SM7's in the grinds I wanted, one was £75 and one was £84 delivered both from online Golf Pro Shops

SM7's are still £99 new online

Defo a good place to get some bargains if you're patient

Phil Mickelson put the over-50-set of golfers on notice that he’ll be a force to be reckoned with, should he decide to play on PGA Tour Champions. Mickelson posted 5-under 66 in the final round to go wire-to-wire and win the Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National by four strokes over Tim Petrovic.

“Sometimes you just run into a buzz saw,” Petrovic said. ” I ran into a Phil buzz saw this week because he made a lot of birdies. I think yesterday I shot 31 on the front, I don’t think I picked a shot up … maybe one shot today.”

Ozarks National is located not far from Branson, Missouri, where the likes of crooners Andy Williams, Glen Campbell and Dolly Parton enjoyed performing during their golden years. In almost any game played today, the half-century man is long gone, having stepped aside to make room for the young. Except in golf. At 50, Mickelson’s competitive juices still are flowing.

Mickelson became the 20th player to win in his senior debut, joining a fraternity that includes Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lanny Wadkins, and just last month, Jim Furyk

Played to 11 today, been really consistent with my scoring the past 5 rounds
Ball striking was really good today and in very windy, wet conditions

I’ve never tried the Vokey wedges. Always liked the look of them.

I’m debating on treating myself to a new bag full of clubs in the near future. Will give them a go .

A red golf bag. You should be ashamed of yourself. First Serge Aurier's hat, and now this.

Ok so maybe this is the thread to pose the question, Bale v Kane 18 holes strokeplay, who wins?

Both play off around 3 or 4 handicap.

The Covid Cup challenge. All proceeds to the NHS, except our cut. Trophy for the winner. Who says we don’t win things as a club.
