Does anyone know what the story with GLC is? Is he actually training at the moment? Just wondering how long before he'll be involved - we're some dependent on him for creativity

He had a groin strain at the end of the season and is resting it. He's attended games, I don't know whether he's training

He had a kick about on holiday as it was in some photos when they played with the guy who had COVID

Supposedly Jose said at end of season that we would need to give him the break +pre-season time off to recover completely from groin injury (was complicated because it couldn't be treated in lockdown).

He's been at matches and was on skywalk so it's not Covid related. I expect we will some Gio in the next two weeks ..

Didn’t Winks do the skywalk too? Maybe him and Gio have been suffering from Vertigo since!

I would get him in the side instead of the CLogger or Winks TBH.

who do you mean by "the CLogger"? To be honest the description covers more than one player

Tbf @Grays_1890 he is injured, otherwise i'm sure he'd have played yesterday...though given our way of playing and how we're being coached: would it make much difference?

    Massive difference IMO
He drives the team and is the key cog
But he needs to sort out the injury issues to be of use for us

Yes, though we need more than 1 creator. Said it a few times but Everton had 3 in their team yesterday. We had zero

Key cog if he is used like Everton used James yesterday. Just another brick in the wall if Jose wants him to sit in just in front of Winks and PEH to shuffle the ball left and right and soak up pressure to try and score on the break.

Strangely though Hugo barely made a save...
I saw James as the creator but didn’t see another in their team.
And he was great by the way, along with Docoure and Allan

That's not fair, Lo Celso is injured because he played a load of games last year when he should have rested his injury.

Yeah he was injured and played through it
We need him fit which means his injuries need sorting so it doesn’t happen again

I still think he is just OK and upgrade to winks, but still a few notches below prime eriksen in impacting the game result

Thought he stood out on a pedestrian midfield last season both for work rate and travelling with the ball. It a shame he seemed to have been carrying something that has disrupted his preseason.
Given it was his first season in a different league, the general disruption of covid and the fact we were pretty turgid most games I’m optimistic he will be a top player for us. Can’t decide if he needs to add assists to replace a Eriksen or if he’s going to be more of a Modric type for us as he seems to be better suited to a deeper role?

He played most of the season with that injury instead of sitting in the treatment room, so must be tough enough
