No! Absolutely not! The former Barca chairman brought in several Brazilians, none of which were anywhere near good enough, through an agent that was his friend. All to line his own pockets. Think it was 4-5 players, and they have about 20 games combined for Barca.

this people making assumptions / going by what others have said or have you actually witnessed the guy play badly?

Sounds like he’d be about as good as the last Brazilian full-back we signed… and what with Barca spending €40m to sign Paulinho their recruitment doesn’t inspire me with much confidence as a ripe hunting ground for bargains.

Why we so down on this player?

Good age, played a good number of games over 2 seasons for Betis, who are generally a decent team.

And of course, has anyone watched any of those games?

(Even started playing for his national team)
 
So what's the deal with this guy - appears to be Barcelona's starting RB but available on the cheap?
