If it is cancelled I hope there’s a way something can be done for that Justin Edinburgh fund at least.....

If they catch cases early and stop the spread through the squad, it is working

I would imagine if they can get 16 registered players out they will have to play

Just the beginning. When you’re averaging thousands of cases a day all over Europe, this is going to keep happening.

Lasagne-gate sets a precedent from that perspective, however there will be the concern that their 16 really are all free from covid and whether someone on our side catches it

Lower league clubs can't afford to pay for it themselves and PL clubs can't risk anyone getting it.

It should be paid for by the EFL for the league cup

Seems a thoroughly sensible thing for the PL clubs to do. But there should be a more equitable process in place across the leagues.

It should be paid for by those who show positive.

Surely you could say it’s working perfect for city
Players aren’t necessarily picking up the virus at “work”, but they know who has it and can isolate them accordingly

Bit harsh. Someone could pick it up at Tesco; just because they have covid doesnt mean to say that they were doing anything inappropriate

To some shopping at Tesco is inappropriate, you’d never get a Covid in a Waitrose...

x2. The club should chuck a few quid at it as I’m sure we’d have paid 100k for a walkover due to the fixture congestion.

I'm sure we would through something in the kitty for that. As someone said earlier, them conceding a bye in return for us sending a decent team to their place for a friendly next summer would make sense, though it does open up the system for abuse (though this is a pretty exceptional case). Playing the game tomorrow might cost them money given the empty stadium (cant imagine tv money is much) whereas a full house for decent friendly would be worth it for them

Were these Levy’s “special” COVID tests? :)

Amazing the EFL aren’t paying for / organising testing though.

This could just be the start. Do not be surprised to see the Premier League shut down again.
