Guns n' Roses - Estranged
Elvis - In the Ghetto
Feeder - Descend
Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street
Metallica - My Friend of Misery

Stone Temple Pilots - Plush

There's about another 200 songs I would have on this list!!

Plush is a great shout.
I wasn't familiar, so had a look on youtube and am confused... he sounds and acts 99.999% like that Pearl Jam chap Eddie Vedder... but is called Scott Weiland. Nearly identical.

Comparison:

All I know about Stone Temple Pilots is that they're elegant bachelors

I don't think I'll ever tire of that song, works on so many levels

Sympathy for the Devil : Stones
Working class Hero : Lennon
Free Bird : Lynyrd Skynyrd
Machine Gun : Hendrix
Wait for Me : Bob Segar
Ball and Chain : Janis Joplin
Hells Bells : AC/DC
Master of War : Dylan
Child in Time: Deep Purple
Hotel California : Eagles

That's my 10 for today anyway.

It was a comparison often made back in the early 90s, and they were labelled Pearl Jam copycats. It's still a good song though.

But in saying that, I'd have Pearl Jam's 'Even Flow' in a list above it.

I can't believe I didn't out a single PJ song in my list (fuming)

Hard to put just ten, too many genres I like! In no particular order:

J Dilla/ Slum Village - 'Won't do'
Mos Def - 'Auditorium'
The Prodigy - 'Full Throttle' (album version, Music for the Jilted Generation)
Q Lazzarus - 'Goodbye Horses'
The Rolling Stones - 'Midnight Rambler' (live version, from album 'Get yer ya yas out')
Joy Division - 'Isolation'
Nirvana - 'Dive'
The Smiths - 'There is a light that never goes out'
Falkenbach - 'Heathen Foray'
Peshay - 'Piano Tune' **

** A special mention for my first love in music, jungle/drum n bass from when I was about 10.

To be honest, I could come up with 100 tunes I'd never tire of.

I like this thread.

My ten for today.

Heroes have always been Cowboys : Willie Nelson
House of the rising sun : White Buffalo
Love in Vain : Walter Trout
T.B. Sheets : Van Morrison
Texas Flood : Stevie Ray Vaughan
The Pusher : Steppinwolf
Bridge of Sighs : Robin Trower
Green Manalishi : Peter Green
Blind Man : Maggie Bell.
Walk on the wild side : Lou Reed

Not too sure what to put in my list as I have music on all the time when I work and consume new songs voraciously. I've settled for 10 excellent songs spotify picked out of my song list and I heard today!

Phantom Limb - The Shins
Help Me Lose My mind - Disclosure/London Grammer
Kemosabe - Everything Everything
Mayor Of Simpleton - XTC
Crazy English Summer - Faithless/Zoe Johnson
Exploitation - Roisin Murphy
Sweet Bird of Truth - The The
Flat of the Blade - Massive Attack
Klapp Klapp - Little Dragon
Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush

I'm always happy to put this song on repeat a few times (loads of great Curtis Mayfield songs tbh):

Great thread, extremely hard to narrow it down to 10 but here goes...

Rock with you - Michael Jackson
Motorcycle emptiness - Manic Street Preachers
Being with you - Smokey Robinson
Made of stone - Stone Roses
Morning glory - Oasis
Bame it on the boogie - Jacksons
There aint no pleasing you - Chas n' Dave :D

Those 10 off the top of my head.
