    Why they couldn’t have left him in place and just said, you are in charge of the sponsorship, the running of the club off of the pitch and all the other money making strategies that doesn’t involve transfers is beyond me. Would have worked well for him.

    He will be back up of the back up of both left back and centre back. With all the injuries we have had the last 2 seasons it wouldn’t hurt having an experienced back up who is willing to be just that. He will be on a relatively low wage aswell.

    Reports are that they have rejected a second bid and still want £70m. If he has one year left ton his contract i’d butter him up now and tell him we will be back in for him in January and see if they budge then. I reckon if he doesn’t sign a new contract and no one gives them what they want...
