I felt both of those were factors. I think he'll leave if we get good money for him. He is going to be a fine player for sure.

    Cody Gakpo

I absolutely hope that we go in hard for Gakpo still...we need a big physical player upfront, so either him or throw the dice on go for Mateta. Otherwise we are going to suffer at set-pieces big time (people forget how great Romero was in the air and in the box - either one!)... Regarding...

    Lucas Bergvall

I feel that maybe we're at that stage where he needs a fresh start and a new adventure at a club where he can be him? Yesterday he looked unenthused, and I could not figure out if it is because he was being asked to play a role he didn't feel comfortable playing, or if his heart is not with us...

I absolutely picked up on his vibe, yes. Strange.

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

So enjoy the ride you're on and ignore the one you're not on...I get it, we've all been on similar rides with previous managers...but hopefully (as the years creep into our lives) we find the serenity to accept that some of the football circus is simply not worth our valuable time and energy. I...

Agreed! No point going there. Speak with the ones who have?!!!

@Robspur12 didn't say RDZ was 'clueless' in any interpretation. He posited a concern, but to my eye actually illustrated a great sense of belief in the manager. Mate...I said the same on the newest pod re: conditioning and fitness. And I think this is exactly what RDZ meant when he said 'not...

I genuinely believe our pod this week will offer some perspective. The dialectic approach. It was a brick performance and there are clear, clear reasons.

    Marcos Senesi

Your point stood firm regardless :-)

I think Fernandes instead of Bergy at the start would've made a big difference agreed...p.s. you mean Brighton I think re: VH, but agree with your thoughts.

    Marcos Senesi

Agreed. Porro was ripped to shreds on his debut.

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

I agree he had a poor game but the second goal is harsh. He actually holds the ball for several seconds waiting for some sign of life or help. Bergvall is trotting towards him!!!!!! He ends up losing the ball, then Bergy tries that noodle challenge and gets laughed at.

All good points and questions...opening day drubbings...not quite the same but there was a 4-0 home defeat to West Ham first home game of the season in 81/82, however we had won 3-1 at Boro on first game of the season...

You mention Sarr...is it just me, or is there a higher ceiing to Sarr/he's a little bit more effective than Gallagher, who is busy and bustles around a lot, yet Sarr is huge worker and has equal if not better quality on the ball?

    ***Tottenham v Brentford OMT***

I was waiting...the main differences as I saw them. 1) He didn't say it. 2) He didn't say it last week or the week before or earlier. 3) I don't see them as contradictory at all. I took them as him saying we weren't really ready as he wants us to be, and he didn't expect us to be as poor as we...
