    The first time pass Guimares played in the second half last night was a thing of beauty. That was the sort of thing that Eriksen used to do for us (off of either foot). Unfortunately we don't have a single player in our team at present who can do that with their better foot.

    I think more the speed than the strength. The physicality hasn't worried him, he looks easily brave enough to play in the PL. The pace he does need to adjust to. IMO so far he has either taken too long or rushed too much. He'll find that sweet spot I think.

    I agree with your first paragraph. However, if we go out of the CL in the round of 32 (as is quite possible) and then prioritise the PL we should have a good shout of finishing in a European place (though it might only be the conference league). We probably have to hope that a top 5 team also...

    As long as you're prepared to have some (perhaps quite a lot of) poor results that is fine.... PL teams will absolutely exploit poor positioning, especially through the centre of the pitch.

    Bergval's positioning is pretty terrible. He is clearly very talented with some incredible attributes but makes things hard for us with his poor positioning. He should improve as he gets coaching and experience but he wouldn't be starting for the top teams.
