    Van Hecke's passing isn't good enough to outweigh his defending ability. With VDV being captain, whoever plays alongside side him needs to be able to do some heavy lifting. Moving out of the way to let VDV header the ball, who is brick in the air himself is not the way forward.

    I think we'll be far from a relegation fight this year but Van Hecke is immediately looking like an issue for me You can't have a centre back pair with neither being a strong defender.

    Again I rate him but I did try and tell people before he signed the sort of player he was. He's never been an impose his will on the game player. When I said he's not a metronome this is what I meant, he doesn't dictate games.
