DeAndre Yedlin

Advocaat told the Echo: “I don’t know enough about him yet, to be honest.

“I’ve seen the videos of him and we saw him against Holland, when he did really well when he came on.

“But you can only see in training what he can bring and if he is better than the others.

“He only got here on Friday, so we need to work with him more.”

“He will definitely strengthen our options at full-back,” added Advocaat.

“He’s really quick and played for the national team last week more as a right-winger, than a full-back.

“But his pace is superb.

“It’s all about balance with the full-backs, between going forwards staying back.”

Well, that certainly goes against everything I've read on internet forums ever when it comes to picking the team.

Indeed. But dingdong is old school..................;)

He's playing backup to their first choice RB. Hardly inspiring as this move was meant to get him some first team football.

With the form of Walker and the way Trippier has performed, I'd be very suprised if he gets a chance with us now. Sad for him, but at the same time if he hasn't been able to impress for Sunderland nor Poch during his time with us, then he's not going to get games.

At the time, having a chance to play for Advocaat at Sunderland was the ideal move. Playing for a side fighting off relegation under Allardyce is another thing altogether.

I asked a taxi driver in Durham (Sunderland fan) about him the other day. His response was simply 'meh'. Thought he might be worth keeping if they went down

11 PL starts, 2 sub appearances. Not a bad return on loan.

Right now with Walker and Trippier doing well + Walker Peters in the development squad the path to becoming a first team regular for us seems very long for Yedlin. But this is still his first real season in the PL, he's still adjusting and only 22 years old. A lot of players have taken huge strides from that age on.

Not sure at the moment. I am happy that he is being trusted again by Sam Allardyce. Is he now in the right mood for Spurs or do we loan out once more?

Had a brainfart against Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Maybe someone has the gif but he basically took a ridiculously bad foul throw in which led to Saudi Sportswashing Machine scoring.

That's a bit harsh, the foul throw gave Saudi Sportswashing Machine the throw in (in their own half) can't say that alone was the cause of the goal.

There was a full 40 seconds between Saudi Sportswashing Machine then taking the throw, playing across field down the wing and in to the box for the goal, plenty of time for SAFC to get a boot in and tackle someone.
