***OMT - SPURS vs Chelsea***

I think Pulisic is the next Hazard. They have a handful of exciting attacking players, yet looked blunt today and devoid of ideas.

I think Pulisic is a better asset than Hazard as he’s better defensively, even if he’s not on it he’ll do a job, when Hazard is off form it’s like playing with 10 men.

It's hard to break down teams that defend deep like we did today - at least that's the excuse when we struggle...

yeah but we’re not the team being hyped up due to our attacking prowess are we
All I heard before the game was how we deal with them... they couldn’t deal with us. They were very very blunt IMO
They haven’t beaten one top side this season and you can see why

The hardest midfield we will face in EPL, I would take the point before the game.

kovacic has improved a lot since he went permanent
Kante was busy but we let him have the ball going forward as we knew he wouldn’t create anything
Mount can be good but rarely special
City created more form midfield but they committed more people forward

Rodon and Dier made loads of errors in possession. Yes they headed most things away well, but let's not pretend they played great.
Did they?
I watched stage game on delay knowing the result so I was much much calmer than normal
I barely saw a ball form Dier or Rodon go to waste. There is was an odd crossfield go out but nothing more IMO

Dier had quite a few misplaced passes, one that went straight out of play iirc and another straight to the Chelsea attack that put us under a bit of pressure. His passing was very awry today.

He did hit one out of play very early on
And the other crossfield one to them around the halfway line
I don’t remember anymore
By contrast... zouma gave us a great chance and silva kicked a few passes out for throws when diene very little pressure
Rodon I don’t remember misplacing a pass

He had two really bad ones second half. One was a cross field ball that got intercepted another was a pass out of defence straight to their midfielder.

He’s been a revelation at CB for me over the last 6 months but he wasn’t good today. That said, another clean sheet so he must have done some things right.

How wasn’t he good? I get what your saying about passing but it was rare and few and far between

I mean they barely had a sniff all game

their one plan was play it wide and hope someone can cross. The threatening crosses fell to Tammy who handled at least one of them but it was played on

His distribution was poor and he got done quite badly in the first half by the touch line by Abraham. There was an air of the Pogba one from last season about it. I can’t remember him doing anything particularly outstanding compared to 4-5 dodgy moments. On that basis, I’d say he wasn’t good and wasn’t at the standard he’s set himself recently.

Edit: there was also the Abraham chance second half where Dier was all over the place.
