Transfer Window Thread

Sadly i think you're right. I believe there was a chance with this guy last season or perhaps even in the Summer, but he seems to have gained further traction since then and now the big boys are circling.
His performances against Emirates Marketing Project alone in CL home and away will have put pay to any chances we might've had. He's firmly on the radars of others now.

Oh well, Sander Berge it is then?
Looks like it!

Was he a top tier player? I thought he was playing Europa League football for Ajax when we signed him?

He was seen as about the best young defender in the game and Barca were trying to sign him. His profile 18 months ago was as big as say Ndombele or De Ligt now.

Barca did try to sign him, but it was for their B team, wasn't it? And Sanchez wanted first team football?

I would argue that both Ndombele and De Ligt have put in very good performances in the Champions League against the A-list clubs, whereas Sanchez had only really shown his worth in the (weak) Dutch league and against the Europa League cannon fodder

Isn't he another type of wide forward though?

We currently have 7 players (I'm not including Jansen) to fill the (usual) 4 attacking slots we go into games with.

If Llorente went then 6 would be a bit light. I think he'd be a good option as back up to Kane, especially if he can play wide as it gives him another route to pitch minutes, as wont get many of those as solely Kane's back up.

I've always thought he looked dangerous and not expensive either.

We rarely use Llorente so really only have 6 players which the manager seems to want to regularly play in order to cover 4 positions.

People always talk about 2 players per position so in fact we're 2 light, compounded by there not being any youngsters really on the fringe of the squad (like Skipp and KWP are in other position)

If I was looking for a CF to come in and one who can be versatile I’d look at Callum Wilson

He's not that versatile though is he. He's basically a poor man's Kane. A #9 who can make a stab at AM.

The problem with signing someone like that, right at their prime, is that he'd basically Janssen.

He is better than that as he is already performing in the league
He has pace and is physical
I’ve not seen much of him play as an AM but he hasn’t played there I know

Maurizio Sarri is willing to pay up to £50m for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson – if he fails to convince Gonzalo Higuain to come to Stamford Bridge.

Sky Sports News has learnt that the Chelsea boss remains determined to renew his partnership with the Argentinian striker, despite the concerns of the Chelsea board – and efforts by Milan’s sporting director Leonardo to keep him at the San Siro.

Higuain’s arrival would likely signal Alvaro Morata’s departure to Sevilla, with the La Liga club keen on a loan until the summer. We understand Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez is in London to find out how close any potential deals may be.

Not for £50m I wouldnt. And, honestly, Im not sure he fits.

All of our attacking players are defined by versatility. Wilson is a straight up striker, who would rarely play because thats all he can do and we have Kane already.

What about after 2 years of getting 70 minutes in 4 or 5 early round cup games? Of becoming a CF Vorm?
