The Goon Thread

Thing is apart from black people in London the only people I know who support Arsenal have never actually been to a game.

I know two young lads where I work, they tell me the are mad for arsenal give all the banter and that. But one of them brought lunch in everyday last week. I said to him that the cost was half the price of a ticket for a game.

Just shrugged his shoulders said he was not interested in going. I guess some go week in week out. But their fans never seemed like fans to me.

I mean even on low wages you can go once a season. Put in cheap league cup and Europa league matches and over a 5 year period he should get up to a decent 20-25 games. You could say he was poor but still made the effort. They really are not proper football fans them lot.

Can't blame them for not wanting to go to Emirates though. Nothing to see there. :p

"I think I think we survived"

"1 minute to go, Sp**s' dreams about to be shattered."

"**** off I'm off to find the nearest rope!"

"Kill me please"

"I genuinely take this personally
What did I do in my life that was so bad?"

"YNWA!"

"I hate life right now"

"We’re getting smashed tomorrow too right?"

BAAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Hope the same dejection is spreading through their squad too. Very cathartic.

3-1 is a healthy advantage, and they seem to play better in europe than the premier league, but...

They also travel really poorly and 2-0 to Valencia is hardly a 1 in a million shot is it?

In related Schadenfreude-based developments, the Colorado Avalanche were eliminated from the NHL playoffs yesterday by San Jose Sharks. They had a goal disallowed on VAR because one player leaving the ice on a change still had one skate blade on the ice putting him off side on a play where a crucial equalizing goal was scored.

Why is that relevant?

Although the team are listed in his wife's name, the Avalanche are part of Stan Kroenke's professional sports empire. He was groaning in agony as his players missed several chances to tie the game and force overtime. Interesting to see how much older he looks now that he's stopped dying his hair and moustache.

Kroenke's empire includes the NFL Super Bowl losers, Los Angeles Rams; last place and worst-supported team in MLS, Colorado Rapids; NBA's Denver Nuggets, one game away from the semi-finals; and the Tinsel Vincibles.

Valencia's Mestalla is no place for the weak bladdered. Absolutely my favourite football stadium. Incredibly steep stands (luge run) and tight to the pitch. The place that Spain takes another nation (no one ever says they dream of playing there) when they absolutely have to win a game. First goal for Valencia and the streets of Islington will run with pizss.

And, because of past misconduct, they fcukin' despise the 47-year-old virgin who manages the Popguns.
