We spend crazy amounts in the summer, and yet this is a fact, albeit only 4 games in. Mental.

The negligence in failing to foresee the issues in respect of scoring, by effectively ostracising Richarlison and relying on Solanke, probably means an over reliance on Bentancur for some time.

You say that as if Richy or Solanke were any kind of solution. They are both part of the problem. The issue isn't ostracizing Richy, it's having them both still on our books in flipping 2026. Richy should have been sold at the end of his first season and Solanke should have never been bought in the first place.

I don't consider players problems inasmuch as they don't buy themselves, or get picked.

I am not saying either is a viable solution in the slightest, and never thought the signing of Solanke would work, but we have a situation at least until January where we have seemingly banished Richarlison, who unlike our other players does know how to find the net, if little else at this stage.

To not have signed an out and out striker in the summer window, or decide to keep Lankshear until such time was always likely to leave us short.
