Tottenham Hotspur 2025 Europa League Winners !!!!!!!

As luck would have it, I'm ill and I've lost my voice (temporarily, I hope!) so this is going to be a strange game for me, but hopefully, the result will make up for the frustration. COYS!

This really is one of the most fascinating finals I can remember. So many narratives waiting to be written, so many reputations on the line as well as the massive financial implications.

I really fancy us. Not sure why. They have probably the one player on the pitch who can create something from nothing but he's surrounded by absolute brick. We go out with a similar mindset to Bodo and Frankfurt away and we'll do it.

THE BIG DAY IS HERE MUTHA fudgeRS!

SO WHERE ARE WE ALL WATCHING IT?

IM WATCHING IT AT LEGENDS BAR IN BRAINTREE, NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE, MIGHT BE A brickHOLE, BUT WITH A FEW OF MY MATES AND NEIGHBOURS TOO.

CANT PROMISE A WIN BUT CAN PROMISE A MELTDOWN IF WE LOSE!

COYS!!!

NO IDEA WHY IM SHOUTING!

Mailbox in Lincoln.

I've invited 4 or 5 people of which I have lent to Spurs shirt to (they aren't really into football tbh but it's a night out and i wanted to get people on board).

I have absolutely no idea how to feel about tonight. I just want it to go right, just once in my adult life supporting life. Please make it tonight Ange & Co. This has been the absolute focus for the last month or so, let's see that preparation pay off and write yourselves into history.

This narrative around they just have Fernandes and no other players is nonsense. They have plenty of players with quality and a lot of top level experience, the problem like a lot of ours is that they don't show up consistently. They have a lot of 'moments' players hence why they got to the final and that is often what separates teams in finals - moments....

Garnacho, Amad...anyone else really? Casemiro? Not for me - the negatives outweigh the odd brilliant moment. Eriksen hasn't produced anything in a long time. Hojlund? Potential there but never really looked like a player when he's been needed. Zirkzee? Mainoo? Mount? I'm not seeing it.

Garnacho and Amad have their moments but very inconsistent. Casemiro has improved recently but he a passenger in midfield. Eriksen will produce if he's given time on the ball but he doesn't get it.
Utd don't have much quality in the final third, which is why they've only scored 42 goals in the league this season. My only concern is that we will cough up a couple of easy chances from our own poor play.

Hmmn, I'm always a prophet of doom. If I put a bet on it will 3 nil to United, Fernandes running the show....but football is a strange game. We beat Chelsea in 2008, maybe we can pull this one off?? Not sure how unless a Porro thunderbolt does the trick. It would be amazing though, Spurs actually turning up in a big game, something we have seen far too little of recently...

I've already received pelters on here for suggesting that Man Utd are superior to us defensively.

You can overrate and underrate players. It's subjective at the end of the day. Do think there's a danger in underrating Utd's players and their team as a whole. It's taken him a while but I do detect a direction of improvement under Amorin. He's done what Poch did. Give existing players a chance before binning them off for younger, hungrier players.

United were excellent against Bilbao. Bilbao are a very strong team and while United rode their luck at times (and the aggregate scoreline flattered them), at the end of the day they carried a really high level of threat against a competent defence and scored 7 goals across 2 legs, successfully shutting out Bilbao defensively on their own patch (albeit against 10 men for a period).

United were also excellent defensively against Chelsea the other night, really restricting the space their dangerous players had to operate in (in a similar manner to what they did against Bilbao) and frustrating Chelsea by severely limiting the number of chances Chelsea managed to create.

United are currently playing a 3-4-3 with a double defensive pivot, which gives their wing-backs license to bomb on without creating gaps at the back. Mazraoui and Dorgu were excellent against Bilbao, constantly stretching them by pulling their full backs wide and allowing space for Garnacho and Fernandes to occupy the resulting gaps between their FBs snd CBs and set up a multitude of chances.

Bruno is their best player, the idea of the rest of them being 'brick' is gonads. They wouldn't have got to a final with just Fernandes turning up, the much ridiculed Hojland has scored more in the EL than any of our players. If all we had to do was worry about him then it would be a very easy final. But it won't be...

Agree. Bruno will be the most talented player on the pitch, sadly. Diallo and Garnacho are capable of great moments. As is a seemingly resurgent Mount. My worry is we won't have anyone out there likely to pull something unexpected from their arse, unless Sonny can turn back the clock. If we are to win, it will have to be a low scoring affair as I don't see us creating too much with the available players.

So, 1-0. Romero from a corner. That will do nicely!

Yet they've only scored 42 goals in the league, the 5th worse. If we defend like we did against Frankfurt and not make stupid mistakes playing out from the back they will struggle to create much.

Fair enough, my original post was a bit hyperbolic but Fernandes is far and away the most creative player on the pitch tonight. I don't fear any of the other United players too much. My concern from our point of view is our lack of creative player and how Ange will set up but I still think we'll have enough to do beat them.

Of course, anyone who plays football for a living, particularly for a big club like United, isn't dogbrick so I take your point.

I think this game will be won in midfield, so really hoping Bentancur and Bissouma are tuned on and don't get themselves ridiculous cards. Then of course the offensive role in that. I don't think it'll be Son or Odobert, so Sarr probably looking likely, although we rarely look good with those three together.

I'm getting really nervous. Zirkzee back for them. Not a prolific goalscorer, but excellent on the ball.

If he plays with Sarr I hope he gets in and around Bruno to try take him out of the game.
