    But we don’t - in a GE we vote for a manifesto which best suits our uppermost needs and expectatations. You don’t vote for your mate Peter without understanding what his masters have in store for you and your community.

    I agree with that. He is likely a better fit for the party but not so much for the parties floating voters. There is plenty left in the manifesto to be implemented and the bond markets which are already talking loudly, will dictate the viability of giveaways.

    went up to trent bridge for the first days play of Notts v Surrey. very welcoming bunch. really pleasant day as was wearing my surrey colours. Guy at the gate gave us a very arch “Welcome to the home of the champions” and then said “you can go into the pavilion for coffee and sausage rolls”.

    I have it different. The old parties are tied up in knots, and cannot/will not live up to their manifesto promises because of existing legal frameworks and a lack of will from backbench rebellions. Reform are a shoe-in and they will be at war with the civil service and the losing radicals...
