The "If we go down" thread

This is a really good question... The way I see it is, players who stay and fight to get us back in the Prem ...1st time around. Will be given a reprieve and and status maintained... Those who are sold as it's necessary, or those who ask to leave...as a result of relegation are tarnished...

    Would relegation be that bad?

The thing is that after sacking T. Frank we had two choices: Go for a manager who was going to try a kick the players up the backside approach. Go for a manager who was going to make them feel good about themselves. Management is parenting right... The thing is we need to look at our players...

That's what I'm thinking too ... We're gonna lose this kid due to sheer negligence.

What would be the team for the first game of the season?

    Archie Gray

I've felt like crying when I watch him play in this Tottenham Hotspur side. The kid is destined to become the next superstar in my eyes, and at his age of development he's surrounded rubbish. Whenever I watch him play, I can see that he's got everything to take him to the very top. Just like...

What was the trigger in our downward trend?

Yes that's true for the PL. But even in the Prem every team has a number of technical players in midfield (even if it's just one) of varying degrees depending on their spending power.... We don't have any players like that at all. And included Xavi and Kudus in that too. They are what I call...

What was the trigger in our downward trend?

I think it's more to do with not buying enough high quality technical midfielders who can pass and create... The strikers we have are capable of scoring goals... but they don't have any quality creativity behind them. We keep buying runners and tacklers, that's why we never keep the ball long...

    Interim manager thread 2.0

Technically in the next CL game we could have a back 5 of: Porro, Romero, Danso, VDV, Spence And Pahlinia Gray RKM Solanki Richardson

Well that's up to you if you want to believe everything he says at a press conference. I see it as PR duty. So it's something else which needs to be managed professionally. The press will write whatever they want, regardless, so he needs to make sure he handles the conference. I wouldn't take...

I think that's what has been happening the last few games. There has been a shift towards a more attacking approach compared to the rubbish served up early in the season. It's not gung-ho at the level we saw under Ang. But we've definitely been more front footed in the last 4 or 5 games.

    Cristian Romero

Agreed. For Argentina he is one the first team players. But not the most high profiled player. For Spurs he is the captain and by far the most high profile player we have at the club. (Especially after Kane and Son left). It's a different kind of exposure.

Thomas Frank - Former Head Coach

I think alot of people were already saying, that seeing how we performed in the 4 x February games would ultimately determine what happens in summer as there were signs before February of better football, and much better performance's. I think we should just continue to get behind the team TF...

    Ginola or Bale

Has to be Bale for me. Ginola was what I call a proper Tottenham Hotspur superstar. Like Hoddle, Gazza, Ardilles, King. All skill and grace and loved. Head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch. Creating the identity of what Tottenham Hotspur has always been. But Bale was a machine, and had...

Premiership Era Best XI - Right Back

I actually think it's S. Carr. He had an amazing engine. Up and down the right hand side for 90 minutes. Solid defensively (in an average team) and dangerous going forwards. He didn't have walker's (speed, I mean who did?) and he didn't have Charlie's high level technical ability... but he...

I think it's more to do with TF's media handling skills. I've watched many now, and I'm pretty sure he uses a diffuser style with the press. Limited controversy and avoid getting into a confrontation with the press strategy. He tells you everything in detail, but actually tells you nothing...

    Cristian Romero

I know the Romero haters will be out in force today. And I'm being clear that I'm not talking about people being critical about what happened today. But he's gone in low and hard for the tackle outside the box. The ball is there to be challenged for.... what do you expect any Spurs player to...

Did he play on the right for a bit, I'm sure I saw him switch sides towards the end?

    Cristian Romero

Personally I thought the red card was a bit harsh today, similar to the Chelsea game under Ang. But it's Romero, so the Ref gave it. But it's Romero, so HE should have not given the ref the opportunity to find a reason. I think he was really up for this game, the team were, I think we started...

    Cristian Romero

Totally Agree. He's been my captain since he became vice captain. He's slowly become my favourite (current) Spurs player ever since that villa game, where he put in two crunching tackles that led to us scoring. I don't hear the negative comments (as in I choose to refuse to hear the noise)...
