    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Given the patience shown by fans and club to a man who gained just 78 points from a possible 198 over 66 games, I’d expect it to be considerably longer than that.

Depending on the day, and my mood, G od Only Knows can be the greatest song ever written.

    ENIC

Phil dismissing 18 months of dreadful football, and the breaking of endless negative records both for the club and in the PL, in one sentence. He obviously didn’t have to sit and watch it all, the lucky bugger.

    Cristian Romero

I think the timing of his post tonight is pretty telling, unfortunately.

    Cristian Romero

I want him to stay - but he’s so often not available that my heart won’t be broken if we get a good fee for him. Speaking of hearts, I’m not sure his is really with us now. Not the wisest move with the timing of that post, though - Levy can be very stubborn when he wants to be…

Genuinely excited about this and looking forward to next season massively. How many weeks…?

    ENIC

Not sure it was in the public realm when he said it that Frank was 99% done. McQueen also said the decision had been made on Frank weeks before, which a few stories seem to now be backing up. I had seen discussions on whether Munn might go or not, but hadn’t seen it being said as anything...

    ENIC

Looks like 3 of the things Lee McQueen said on LWOS last week that he had been told were going to happen have now occurred, or look like they will (Cullen and Munn going, Frank coming in). Will be interesting to see if the information on the scrapping of the hotel projects and Levy going before...

I’m not sure why - there is nothing to the article (unless I can’t see it all…?). Basically a quick re-telling of the past week, with an unattributed claim thrown in.

Pat Jennings (don’t panic he’s fine!)

Had a similar experience, must be 15 years ago, flying out of Belfast International on an early morning flight to go to a game. Nothing was too much trouble for the big man when it came to mixing with fans going across to the game. An absolute gentleman. (And yes, the sausages are Cookstown... ;) )

I like listening to Jason McGovern, but he always tries to take the opposite approach to everyone else - and he'll have changed his mind in a fortnight anyway.
  12. Mikey10

    Ange departs

He’s pragmatic, tactically astute, develops players, and has hugely overachieved with the second smallest budget in the PL. He’s also loved by everyone at Brentford (supporters, players and the hierarchy all praise him to the hilt), deals exceptionally well with the media, and he is by all...

Agree absolutely on ENIC - but I am excited about Frank.

I can imagine that PL survival is the main aim there so, as you say, more likely to rest members of a lighter squad in cup games.

    American politics

I take your point - but, equally, I'm not sure that Mexico has ever been seen as the world's greatest democracy and The Land of the Free.

Tbf he does mention journalists as being culpable in the piece.

Tends to be his style. There’s truth in there - and not just about Ange - but it does feel like there’s another motivation behind it, as Bedford says.

Apologies if already posted, but just in case it’s not…a Marmite piece, if ever there was one. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2025/jun/10/ange-postecoglou-tottenham-sacked-europa-league-post-truth-philosophy

Although the bald controller is still around (for now...).

I was at that Villa game in October last year. We were 1 down at HT and were useless in the first half - awful to watch and completely clueless at both ends of the pitch. We did win comfortably in the end but I came away from the game unconvinced. (Great to have you back btw!)
