    Transfer thread

Bentantcur has been back to his old self since De Zerbi came in, in my opinion.

I first took it to mean we're after Tete, but it may mean Everton are after him. Seeing as the journo is mainly covering Everton and Liverpool, I reckon it means he's linked to Everton. Feel free to delete, mods.

    Not a terrible deal, that!

He was at Boreham Wood Youth from 2016 to 2019, and at Sheffield United from 2019-2023 (combined ages 16-23), so five years before turning 21 - how does that not fit the required: "A homegrown player is defined as someone who was registered with any club affiliated with the English Football...

We win a game and release a guy on free.

You can write down this loss to him then. Ffs, what an amateur.

What a bloody window. Dubravka Robertson Van Hecke Senesi Tonali Fernandes Savio Marmoush Ndiaye Did I forget anyone? Crazy! It's a Football Manager type window. A "list everyone you'd like us to get" scenario. Bizarre. Like the 2013 window, only with Prem proven players.

Yeah, we need some competition for him out there, I'll readily admit, even though I'm quite fond of Tel.

I really like this guy. One of the players I love watching as a neutral. Yes! I need TP for my bunghole! He's a 10/false 9 type of guy, isn't he? Oh, a winger apparently. He's always seemed to be playing more centrally when I've watched him, which admittedly hasn't been much. A very archetypical Tottenham...

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

He gets a couple of wins soon, the new players start firing, we’re stringing together lovely attacks and Marmoush is banging them in. Then all of this will be forgotten. This is a new team, who had a lackluster preseason due to circumstances out of our control - things take time. We’ve all...

Yes! I hope and think so. There's a lot of quality in that team, it was on display today, but the little details are missing. That'll come!

Many will probably disagree with me, but I thought we showed a lot of positive signs going forward - lots of nice combinations at times, better ball control and passing all over the pitch, just little details missing, players moving a little bit off one another in combinations - stuff you have...

That's a huge bummer. He's been our most reliable defender for a year and half, in my opinion. We need a guy like him back there. I love van Hecke's passing ability, and VdV's speed, but I think they both lack a commanding presence back there to instill confidence and calmness for the team. It...

I thought it looked OK, although I don’t like Gray at RB. I find it almost random that they lead this game, thought we’ve been better for the most part in the game. They are perhaps more sound than us in their central defense - I’m not quite convinced we’re good enough there yet.

Yes, we will need to get results eventually, of course, but there’s time, and there are legitimate reasons for us not performing at our best yet.

It’s just one more game with a team full of new players and players that have come back from injury trying to play a system we haven’t really played before. X player’s ability to not do Y is not why we lose today, so no point making a meal out of either, in my opinion. Give it time. We’ve seen...

That smug young Scott Parker on the Saudi Sportswashing Machine bench has quite a punchable face.
