    Levy's Plan

Sorry but IMO if you were starting the summer off by denying RDZ his top choice of centre back, a player that was gettable for us for a reasonably standard PL player fee then you are following the very definition of not backing your manager. You might as well say to him “I don’t trust your...

    Levy's Plan

Emirates Marketing Project did not need our money to buy Ndiaye. Also, we didn’t go in for Ndiaye until after we had signed Savio. I think it is therefore the most likely probability that the manager wanted Savio (personally I have never been particularly impressed with Savio but that’s another matter). You...

    Levy's Plan

I think those things are true, though the only club he was at who you’d expect to win is Shaktar and they won the cup in 21 and we’re winning the league in 22 when it was suspended. Brighton he took to Europe for the first time in their history with their highest ever PL finish and Marseille he...

    Levy's Plan

You wouldn’t have got him his first choice centre back, his first choice winger and forced him to keep Richi in the squad despite the manager only wanting players bought in. You are absolutely saying that you wouldn’t have backed the manager.

    Levy's Plan

You are basically saying “I wouldn’t have backed the manager”. Which is exactly what the previous regime did time after time after time.

Indeed, and we’d have got them on deadline day. But hey, at least we’d have ‘won the deal’.

    Conor Gallagher

I think the term for a 10 like Gallagher is a ‘box crasher’ I’d like to see Fernandes moved back to play alongside/behind Tonali and Gallagher as the 10 in any parts of the game that Maddison cannot play, it will improve our pressing and chance of turning the ball over higher up the pitch and...

    Richarlison

I like Tel. I think he has all of the attributes to become a very good player. Richi has never had the attributes to be anything other than a middling PL player (though I appreciate us being a middling PL club would seem a big step up from where we were last season). I don’t think the manager...

    Richarlison

And what did the club do about it? Nothing!…. The team captain unilaterally decides he doesn’t want to return to training with the rest of the squad and he doesn’t even get fined. There is evidence of a poor culture at the club (both the fact the player felt empowered to do it and the club’s...

    Richarlison

You can change the culture in any organisation. It just takes a collective will to promote, and indeed enforce, the new culture. To do it you absolutely have to get rid of some people, and often they are people who have been around for a long time. I think it was reasonably clear last season...

    Sandro Tonali Official

Several times on Saturday Bentancur received the ball with an easy turn forward to be driving forward into space but instead played a quick pass backwards. I’d have him on in the second half if we’re protecting a lead but would rather see Fernandes and Tonali starting as the 6/8 pair.

At present I would be playing Gallagher as the 10. With Fernandes deep and Tonali box to box. While Gallagher isn’t a creative passer, I think his runs into the box would be useful and he would also compliment the team’s press.

    Dominic Solanke

J U Tressoldi at Brugge is also very good

    Richarlison

played well didn’t he? Was only really dealing with long balls and scraps but got Villa up the pitch with them, ran the channels, ram in behind, was a nuisance and got a goal. We’d be a much better team with him up top instead of Solanke.

I thought we dominated the game and had a few good chances that we didn’t take.
