    James Maddison

It goes without saying that we need him as a creative force and he's the only playmaker we have. Without him, we usually end up passing the ball left to right in front of the defensive line, waiting for an opening because someone dies of old age, or pinging hopeful crosses towards the best hands...

Agree about Kudus, so far he's been a quicker Lamela without the nasty side. Nice to watch but it doesn't really result in much. Robertson is what he is, he won't do things for us that he couldn't do for Liverpool and I think he's more a replacement for Davies (ironically) than the LB solution...

Maddison and shooting. Without the goal, few would've said this was a good half. We're so utterly predictable in that we never shoot from distance unless 2-0 down with 5 mins to go, defenders only need to mark us out and wait for us to either play ourselves up our own bottoms with our...

Too many backpasses even when in balance and with options, we often play like we're leading 8-0. I miss being 3 up and still chasing the 4th. Actually I miss being 3 up.

Maybe, but I clearly remember feeling it was good to have a proper striker again. A striker needs a facilitator though which we have been lacking, not just hopeful blind crosses. But we'll see, he's obviously not going anywhere in the near future.

He seems like an out and out striker, not a create your own chances Kane-type. Getting Maddison back can only be good for him and the role he can play.

That would be nice, but not very realistic..!

If we get a penalty as well, it's only a matter of minutes before we wake up and it's Monday morning again.

I do have a little hope in that getting a proper AM back will make him better. He was actually very good the first few games under Frank(?).

See what happens when you shoot?! Much easier than walking the ball into the net!

Even if Utd are dirt poor, this was quite promising. As opposed to not knowing what's the problem is because all parts are a mess and no one can pass, we know that we need better up top, and that neither Richy nor Solanke is the solution.

It won't be a season of joy and glee, but I'm fairly certain we'll stay up.

This Utd team is so bad that they're beatable even with 10 men, but only if you have someone up top who knows how to score.
