When Porro and Savio came on, they looked like they had played together for a while. Gray (no dig at an 18 yar old), is not even close.
I suspect Porro, Savio, Tonali are added to yesterday's starting lineup, Marmoush is highly likely to be a sub.
So in at this point, Dubravka, Robertson, Senesi, JPVH, Tonali, Fernandes, Savio, Marmoush
8 players, probably 5 starters. Possibly one more in (Gapko?)
Only time will tell, but not sure what more could have been done? maybe a RB?
Not his greatest game, but I still think he gets evaluated when Savio/Kudus is on other side (opposition will not have ability to double up on him, he should have more space)
Right now, he keeps possession, he has a decent shot, has a very sneaky pass into box (seen it a couple of times in...
Makes no sense to keep until January, with Savio and likely Kudus and Deki not too far off, a loan is what he needs.
It's clear, he's got the physicality now, he's got the positioning, it's really his decision making that is pretty brick. To me, that is best resolved by real, consistent game time.
He's a good player, maybe not the elite player that could do it all by himself post injury, but in a decent team, will be valuable.
I expect our first choice midfield until Maddison/Xavi or Kudus/Deki return is Tonali/Bentancur/Fernandes
Thoughts on the game
Honestly training ground exercise, and that says a lot in itself. It showed one of the strength/weakness of RDZ ball, if someone tries to play us at that tempo, they won't hurt us, even the first 30 minutes that people complained about, we were just walking it.
On players...
All people make mistakes, good/bad calls, it's usually how the scale balances in the end.
That said, I'm utterly amazed Lange is still here, Lange was part of a team (we don't know who else) that made the two worst decisions potentially ever made at Spurs (in terms of the risk it brought to the...
Gakpo & Marmoush suffer from the same problem, they are seen as downgrades.
Marmoush is backup to Haaland, Gapko is part of a front line that replaces Jota/Salah/Diaz.
Just like for us, everyone after Kane/Son is seen as a downgrade.
LWB, he keeps making the steps ups, we should keep letting him have a shot until he doesn't.
Moore badly fluffed his lines on the week-end, his positioning was awful, and not taking one of his 3 chances was rough. We may have to play him just as a body, but he needs to really step up or we need...
My opinion is he plays off the right until Kudus returns, then he plays off the left with Kudus right.
He wants us because either way, he's going to play pretty much every game.
Interesting in the RDZ pre-match presser, he said we have been actively negotiating for Savio since a week after the...
You answered your own questions
1. We walked into a season (for the third year in a row) with 20%+ of the squad injured. It's very hard to plan/transfer around that issue. And you asked what are we doing about it? big part of it is not stressing the remaining players in useless preseason games...
