    Lucas Bergvall

I'm not really that bothered by how much we are paying each player individually, I just don't think Bergvall has done anything to earn pay raise in the time he has been with us. I suppose if he was very low paid relatively speaking then maybe he's now on a par with everyone else. 🤷🏿‍♂️

I agree. RDZ is probably just trumping. Can't imagine a world where Savio and Kudus are both fit but one sits in the bench and Tel starts on the left. I might throw my shoe at him. 😅

    Savio

It's a shame because that's not where he does his best work and our right is now overstocked with quality versus the left. Kudus and Savio for the right versus Tel for the left. 🤭

    He hasn't earnt it. 😆

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

I'm willing to have a look at Marmoush in the 10 but I don't really see him as a provider so I don't know if he solves the issue anymore than any other of our available options right now.

I think that's fair, we don't really have creators. Savio can be if he's on the left but he alone isn't enough. Fernandes can contribute as well to this but again i wouldn't think it fair to put all the creation on his shoulders. Ideally, Savio on the left, Fernandes in one of the CM berths +...

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

I agree that we aren't playing with anyone who does what you describe but I think that's mainly a function all of those players we have of that type being unavailable. I do think all of Kulu, Maddison and Simons would do exactly this albeit in different ways and that is what we are lacking as a...

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

Id be concerned that this team id used long term would still struggle for incision. It would be quite reliant on the wide players both creating the play and finishing the chances. Obviously with what we have available needs must, but that lineup I think still missing something and would be...

    Sandro Tonali Official

4231 is fine with a double pivot of Fernandes + Tonali/Bentancur. Tonali's passing isn't poor but I just don't think the optimum way to use him and it is in a 3 with Fernandes and Bentancur with no 10 and expecting Tonali to be the one to dictate the play.

    Sandro Tonali Official

Why not? Because that's not his strength. Sure you can ask him to do it but you won't get a particular great result doing so. Tonali can pass, but that really isn't what he's there for and if that's the expectation he's a bad buy because you don't pay £100m for Tonali's passing range. It's just...

But Tonali isn't in the team to play line breaking passes. He can play them occasionally but surely we haven't bought him for that as it's not a strength of his. I get your thinking re having an extra body but it's a trade-off when that extra body doesn't add anything on possession.

    Sandro Tonali Official

Yeah I agree I don't think he did it to be cautious. We simply don't have an available player for the role currently and he's picking between options to see who can cover it best for now. Some think it should be Marmoush although I disagree as he's more a SS than a 10 and so I don't think he...

The problem is Gallagher was playing as the 10 so for his good off the ball actions there weren't many quality on the ball moments and what we need from an 10 are good on the ball actions.

    Sandro Tonali Official

I thought he had a good game. The issues we had this match I don't think came from the midfield partnership, it's the lack of a real 10 or the counter point to what Bentancur and Tonali offered. There wasn't a balance in play styles and attributes.

    Savio

This is my hope and expectation.

    Savio

To be honest yes. I do have some concerns with Kudus but happy to give time to see how he plays out the ole.
  17. Bishop

    Savio

On the right he's quite one dimensional. He will pretty much always try to cut in and his passing options are more limited and so he's more likely to shoot, which isn't really his strong point.

    Savio

I'm one of the few who watched him at Girona, it's a night and day difference for him in the left versus the right. On the left he plays more like an winger/playmaker hybrid. He'll go inside or outside cross or pass in field and paradoxically he's more of a goal threat on the left as well. He...

***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v The Garibaldis (will Marinakis eat his own club with a cuppa?), Sat Sept 5th, City Ground, 3pm***

I have sadly come to the same conclusion re Udogie. He such an important part of that early Ange period. The way he salomed through defences and his willingness to receive the ball in right spaces was really instrumental. Since then though when you look at the rest of his game it's kind of...
