    Next seasons squad

Will be a fascinating summer now PL is confirmed, and RDZ saying we have 11 or so players that are good enough while also saying not many players need to be changed… I think Romero out. Bissouma out, RKM back, Richy out. Basically if Vuskovic is coming in and we get Senesi and Robertson on...

    Cristian Romero

I don’t blame the club, because they’re never going to be seen to be in any way denying a player what they need to get ready for a World Cup. The point for me is that Romero shouldn’t have asked, shouldn’t have put the club in this position, and it was right that he came back. I don’t think it...

    ENIC

I actually think some of what ENIC are now saying and doing in terms of loosening the wage structure is actually very important and over a long enough time periods is going to start to bear fruit. I think Levy’s time had come and he was holding us back. I also think whoever it was in the Lewis...

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

He’s a Spurs legend and achieved it in the quickest possible time if you ask me. He saved us and I’m not sure who else would have. SEVEN games, when we looked absolutely done after Forest. Confidence completely broken. Yet more injuries to crucial players even after he joined. And he very...

I was thinking the same thing! Was so close to coming in.

Bearing in mind that a lot of people were talking about some combination of Defoe, Mason and whoever else, I don’t blame them as much for the Tudor appointment. It looked like De Zerbi genuinely wasn’t ready to come. And Tudor had a reputation as a fire fighter. Under pressure and with no good...

***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur FC v Everton, Sun May 24th, 4.00pm, The Lane***

Great summary. I don’t really blame the players for this season. I blame some very incompetent decision making from certain people at the club who should have known better. They gave everything and were put in a horrible position. And massive credit to RDZ for getting us out of this. He is...

I disagree. I think it shows that we have proper fans who support the team through anything. And I think it shows that the fans understand that this wasn’t all on the players this year. They have some culpability, but the club has put them through a horrible year.

3 goals need to go in for us to be relegated now. 2 for Everton and 1 for West Ham. Was slightly slightly concerned we celebrated too much after the goal, but of course I know what it means. Let’s do this lads.

    Cristian Romero

Yes exactly, bad judgement call initially (and to try and explain it away via his agent) but they have come to their senses.
  11. SissokoWasGood (BoL)

    Cristian Romero

True. I’m open to the idea that he may be incredible behind the scenes in ways I can’t see. But I also think he’s been too often unavailable through suspension. And this episode just doesn’t sit right with me personally. I get that he has agreed it with the club’s medical stuff. But I think...

    Cristian Romero

I can’t speak for the people who said Sonny was a bad choice of captain. I never thought it myself. And to an extent you are right, this sort of thing is driven by results. And I am by no means saying Romero is the only cause of what has happened this season. But I just don’t think he’s been a...
  13. SissokoWasGood (BoL)

    Cristian Romero

I don’t think it’s an outlandish a point as you seem to think. TVFTL pod has commented on this too many times. The players have been all too willing to criticise the board, the owners, ‘circumstances and challenges that will always be there’ (to quote Romero’s own instagram post on the subject)...

    Cristian Romero

Honestly if you don’t think it says something about his leadership that he chooses not to be there, that’s ok and we can agree to disagree. I think it says something. I was making a general point, if the captain is not the most committed, then other players will follow that lead. There’s very...
  15. SissokoWasGood (BoL)

    Cristian Romero

I think it is A: yes pride and optics, because it’s quite embarrassing for our club captain to choose not to be there for one of the biggest games in its history. Leadership matters. As people have said, it’s about not being more likely to win one game if he is there, it’s about what it says...

    Cristian Romero

Even accepting all of this, would it not have been possible, once it became clear that Everton was a do or die game, to stay here a few more days? I don’t think him being here is going to make the difference either way, I still just think it’s bizarre behaviour. You’re the CLUB CAPTAIN…just be...
  17. SissokoWasGood (BoL)

    Cristian Romero

I usually would agree but this is more than that. I think, taking everything into account, I’m pretty disgusted by Romero to be honest. He is the club captain. I simply don’t understand why, even if you accept that he needs to work with Argentina physios to get ready for the World Cup, that...
  18. SissokoWasGood (BoL)

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

Sure. But I do think his most recent presser was a departure from a very consistent and intentional ‘theme’ he’d been following since he arrived.
  19. SissokoWasGood (BoL)

    ENIC

I do find it funny, this piece is back slapping about how many clever organisational changes they are making to create alignment and set us up for the future, but just funny there is no mention of the terrible football decisions that have taken place this season to get us to where we are. Except...

Yeah, of course. He wouldn’t be happy. And I don’t think that’s what he’s expecting. I think it’s a really interesting judgement call. Continue with the ‘low pressure, I love you all, everything will work out because you’re great’ stuff. And see where the cards fall. Or acknowledge the...
