Sick sick world what is wrong with people

No I get the satire part, I just don’t think much will change re the points scoring.

Be curious to know what @Rorschach and @MartyFunkhouser disagree with from the above post.

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Alf Inge Haaland basically said the refs were biased towards us against Norway. The top teams have always got the decisions more often than not. I don’t think there’s been any outrageous decisions beyond the norm. There will always be 50/50 decisions that go certain teams way.

One or two people on here could learn a lot from that. Everyone has their own preferences and agendas, and that's fine. But this constant "my side is always right, we're the good guys and they're the bad guys" mindset really needs to stop. I can guarantee the people on the other side are...

No change in this thread then.

At least they usually only show him once.

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

As I said in my other post, as long as it’s the group winners and 2nd place only who goes through then it’s no biggie.

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I was worried about the number of games and the tournament being too big but I don’t think they smaller nations (Cape Verde, Doctor Congo) have disgraced themselves. I must admit I don’t think it’s right that you can finish 3rd in a group of 4 teams and still qualify. Just have 64 teams with...

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

We’re left with the four best teams in the competition. That if nothing else is exciting.

    Ingerlund

Get all of that. They just don’t need to show him every 5 minutes.

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I’ve had to disagree. All of the top players have turned up. Been some high scoring, high drama games. The only thing I do not like is the hydration break.

It’s been a great World Cup

    Ingerlund

But his fame doesn’t correspond with his ability. I don’t see many other “very good” players getting as much air time as Beckham does, especially considering he hasn’t played for years. Even in this country he’s treated like a GHod, but he’s been surpassed in terms of performances for England by...

Nowhere near as good as his peers; Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane or Pirlo. Hell even Scholes or Figo.

    American politics

I don't think we're actually that far apart on some of this. I understand why you have such strong feelings about McConnell, Graham and Widdecombe, and I'm not arguing that their records are beyond criticism. I disagree with a number of the positions you've mentioned myself. Where we differ is...

I mean they show ex players when Spain, France and Argentina play but they usually only show them once or twice. I’ve always thought Beckham’s fame doesn’t align with his footballing ability.
  17. Jurgen the German

    Ingerlund

That’s American culture for you. Obsessed with celebrities and commercial breaks, hence the real reason for these hydration breaks.

    American politics

With all due respect, we really need to move away from this kind of thinking. How would you react if Joe Biden, Jeremy Corbyn or Bernie Sanders passed away and you saw similar comments from people on the right? If it were Trump, I'd understand why emotions would run much higher, but most people...

Kane has had an excellent tournament, but not so much last night. He was pretty anonymous and the game seemed to pass him by. He'll need to be much better if we're going to beat Argentina. And is it just me, or do the TV cameras need to show David Beckham every five minutes? I'm not really sure...

And miss a World Cup semi final against England? No chance.
