World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Apologies I meant Euro 2020. Forgot to edit the post.

    Luka Vuskovic

This has probably already been said, but should we not be alarmed by the fact that Brighton want him? They are usually pretty good judges of character when it comes to incoming transfers.

    Tennis thread

Has anyone else noticed how much less friendly the women often seem at the net after a match compared with the men? The men frequently share a hug and even have a brief chat, whereas the women sometimes seem to barely get through the handshake. Maybe it's because the men practice together more...

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Trust me, I know exactly what you mean. I had similar debates about Erik Lamela, who seemed to be a board favourite for reasons I'm still not entirely sure of. Eric Dier was pretty much untouchable with some posters as well. Back to Kane, though—he's undoubtedly world class, but that doesn't...

Cool. But he wasn’t to my knowledge at the last World Cup or at Euro 2024.

There’s always Mexico or Canada. Both lovely places.

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I have to say, I almost always prefer the BBC's coverage to ITV's, but ITV have left them in the dust at this tournament. They've got a fantastic setup, some genuinely world-class former players as pundits, and an incredible backdrop overlooking the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge...

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Again, I don’t think your post is unreasonable. At his best, Kane is an elite finisher who can score with his head and either foot, and his hold-up play is outstanding. But he’s also an elite playmaker. He can spray passes all over the pitch and pick out teammates effortlessly, whether it’s a...

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I wouldn’t put an arbitrary figure on the number of touches he needs, but Muttley isn’t wrong in saying Kane needs to have more of an impact. All strikers thrive on service, but Kane isn’t a tap-in merchant or a traditional penalty-box striker. He’s a creative player who often drops deep to help...

World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I know what you mean. In knockout games for England, Kane can sometimes feel a bit peripheral. He needs to have a more consistent impact, like he did yesterday. You can’t score in every match, but if he isn’t finding the net, then his overall performance has to be stronger and more...

Christina Unkel? I don’t see why ITV keep plugging her. Or any official for that matter. They almost always agree with the decision on the field.

So just Baleforce and Thomas Frank who are in favour of the hydration break then. Figures.

I don’t rate him defensively. Good on the ball but not a great defender.

    American politics

Maybe I misinterpreted your post. I think the joke went over my head. I know Newsom is far from perfect but the perfect candidate doesn’t exist in politics. There may be candidates who people think are more suited to the job, my initial point was that I would prefer someone centrist rather than...

From what I can see he did yes. Multiple posters have asked him to apologise, me included. I know football makes us emotional but I just can’t work out what makes someone jump to posting a slur like that.

More importantly, just own your post from yesterday and apologise. I don’t normally like pile ons but it’s warranted in this case.

I can’t fathom how people think Mbappe is overrated. Sure he’s not as polished as a complete footballer as Kane but goals matter and Mbappe scores bucket loads of them. Even if you took away his pace, he’s still an elite finisher. He’s not Messi but it’s a nonsense argument that he’s overrated.
