Who should be in the Tottenham Hotspur Mt.Rushmore?

Gazza & Hoddle before my time really - the way my Dad says it is that Gascoigne was not a patch on Hoddle in terms of ability. Mackay probably deserves a shout - the older generations always name check him as one of our best ever players

    James Maddison

Best we can hope for is that he can be an option off the bench for a few games - given the injuries that's a valuable enough role atm

Who should be in the Tottenham Hotspur Mt.Rushmore?

Not really - the argument for him being in is that he is the best goalscorer in our entire history. Son won one trophy, we have many players who have won more and who have won an equal or bigger trophy so why does he get in ahead of any of those players? Kane stands alone at the top of our goal...

Who should be in the Tottenham Hotspur Mt.Rushmore?

With a history of 140 odd years you can't really confine it down to 4 people. Nicholson the only guaranteed name on everyones list. As much as I'd like to have someone representing the modern era you can't really make an argument for anyone asides from Kane, for being our highest ever...

Our problem has been how we spend our money and what we spend it on, rather than the amount we spend.

Fag packet calcs - but using 9th as our true position as per robs post (9th highest turnover) then we're spending 300m more in transfers than the 9th place side, add 1/5 of that 'over spend' on to our wage bill (5 year net spend vs yearly wage bill) and we jump from 14th to 10th on the wage...

I was only commenting in response to Rob who was saying that we don't spend at the level our place in the turnover table dictates. Wages : https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/Hl3JYXiiEK Transfers : https://www.givemesport.com/20-football-clubs-with-highest-net-spend-in-last-5-seasons/

According to Deliotte we had the 11th highest wage bill in Europe in 24/25 - so a drop of 2 places in comparison to turnover if it's correct we are 9th. In terms of net transfer spend we're likely a few notches higher than 9th over the last 5 years or so. A quick Google throws up a table from 24...

I meant in relation to your Poch comments. Surely the target for any manager is to get us back in and around the European spots, whoever that is will require strengthening of the team and the injuries to ease off. To go beyond that again will require strengthening and/or developing the...

So the problem is the team not the managers limitations? Presumably that gets addressed through the transfer market... unless you think there's a manager out there who can take this team to the top 3 I'm not understanding your position

What's the implication here, that these players would have not been committed enough under Frank to get back to match fitness to help the club avoid relegation? If so I hope they're sold at the earliest opportunity
