Financial 'Fair' play is not about stopping excessive spending, it's about preventing debt. The real reason for it is so that if a rich owner walks away from the club, or a chairman/board act foolishly, that is doesn't affect the clubs who are selling players to those teams or who are owed...

You can't really tell what we have to spend without the Cash Flow Statement. I'm not an accountant, but to me it looks like we basically took in 32 million in cash in 2012 and 48 million in 2011, the amortization and depreciation makes it look like we are making a loss, but we've already payed...

OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur vs Emirates Marketing Project***

I doubt Mancini will risk Aguero or Silva in what is a pretty pointless game for them. I'd be shocked if we see their best lineup especially when they have a cup final coming up and they will want to keep their players fit.

    Mousa Dembele

United don't play that great football but regardless they have world class strikers that win games for them. Bayern are the opposite - world class midfield but not as good strikers. We can't afford 3 top class strikers but we can afford a top class midfielder I think. We need to buy 5 players...

But beating City would give us some wiggle room in the other games.

what has happened to the transfer section?

Fellaini's not the player we need imo, we need a creative midfielder. Fellaini definitely doesn't suit AVB's system, which is all about 4-3-3 with the midfield consisting of a defensive player (Sandro) a box to box player (Dembele), and a creative midfielder (someone like Modric/Moutinho - what...

    googbye top 4

Btw if Chelsea don't win either of their next two games, at Fulham and Liverpool, they will be put in a very tough position. If they win both, that would be very bad for us.

Chelsea first I believe. I think they'll take points off at least one of those teams, hopefully Chelsea.

Yes I revised my lineup to include Parker instead of Carroll, however for the remaining games I would change that. However in the games after this I would drop Parker for Carroll and play Holtby in the deepest position in midfield.

    Mousa Dembele

When that happens you then bring the backup in. So for example: Sandro/Holtby Moutinho/Carroll --- Dembele/Sigurdsson Lennon/someone---Benteke/Michu --- Bale/Townsend So a quality backup in every position and you rotate all the players so they all stay fresh. That is essentially what SAF...

The only way to beat City imo is by playing 3 in midfield, that means no Bale in the middle unless he's going to play up top and we drop Adebayor. Also it kind of depresses me that Parker will be playing this game, that's definitely going to hinder us when they have Yaya Toure. If we don't play...

Unfortunately Parker will definitely play and I dread to think of him going against Yaya Toure. We just won't keep possession well enough with Parker in there. I'd much rather see a 4-3-3 like this: Lloris Walker Dawson Vertonghen Walker Holtby Carroll Dembele Lennon Bale Sigurdsson...

    Predict The Run In

If City beat us and win their other games, the United would play for the title at the Emirates if they win their other games. So I guess City beating us would have a tiny silver lining, which would be that United's game at the Emirates would probably still be significant. Hopefully we beat...

    Spurs as Barca

We can't play like Barcelona with our current players but that doesn't mean we can't play the 4-3-3 formation very effectively.

OMT - Tottenham v FC Basel, EL QF 2nd Leg

Some people on this forum and other forums really tinkle me off. Especially making negative, retarded comments about Carroll after how well he played. These idiots who think they're football scouts are usually totally wrong in their predictions of which players will make it, and only base their...

One of the most melodramatic, knee-jerk posts ever? Making such judgments after an emotional match isn't the right way to go about it.

    Andros Townsend

In some ways he reminds me of Robben - cutting inside, dribbling, shooting from distance, etc. Probably not a perfectly apt comparison but it stood out in my head that he reminds me of Robben.

    OMT - Tottenham vs. Everton

I think there was better off the ball movement today, against Swansea there was pretty much zero good movement by our attacking players. Ade usually has pretty good movement but it's his touch recently that's letting him down. He showed more initiative today though.
